got to say Ive watched a few of these 30 for 30 espn docs and each one has been class

the best there never was about Marcus Dupree

you don't know bo about bo Jackson

the Baltimore colts one

catching hell about the cubs fan who they blame for missing out on the world series

the bo Jackson one is the best so far. its unreal to think he finished playing baseball for Kansas then went to play play in the NFL for the LA rams straight after.

Watched The Act of Killing last night, where Indonesian gangsters and paramilitaries re-enact their murders of Communists during a military purge in the 60's with bizarre dances and homages to gangster films. Over a million people were killed.

It was good, but not quite as amazing as I was led to believe. The subject of the documentary, despite his extensive role in the purge, doesn't seem like a particularly interesting person to base a documentary on, and comes across as a bit of a mob-mentality idiot that was swept up in the violence. Still worth a look.

A few sports ones that I recently saw and enjoyed...

30 by 30's "The two Escobars" is excellent.

Another interesting soccer documentary is "Once in a lifetime" about the rise and fall of the NY Cosmos. Lot's of very interesting tidbits about soccer and life in NYC in the mid/late 70s.

The Frontline documentary on the concussions in the NFL is really well done.

"Senna" was really good, as was "Once Brothers"

On the off-chance you were into skate boarding in the late 80s then check out "Bones Brigade"

'Once In a Lifetime' is a great shout, cracking soundtrack as well.

Watching Rough Rider at the moment (on Irish tv) Paul Kimmage is a bit of a hyprocrite considering he doped himself but after his spat with Armstrong over his "cancer" comments (which were inappropriate it must be said) he got the last laugh when Armstrong was ultimately found guilty of doping.

Love Child

South Korean couple with online addiction lose their child to malnutrition because of it...it's like Trainspotting but the heroin is the interwebs.

Depressing shyte that film.

Watched The Take last night, really good documentary by Naomi and Avi Klein about a factory in Argentina that gets taken over by the workers. I'm on a bit of a Kleinathon at the minute, just finished reading the shock doctrine, which is much more in depth than the documentary (obviously) and have just started reading no logo.

Both those books are excellent, I actually thinks she's a bit of a honey too, strangely :)

The shock doctrine was brilliant in the way she ties it in with Iraq.

Documentary here..

Good one to watch, if you haven't already is the Corporation, mindblowing stuff, especially about toy shops and catching consumers while they're young

Occupation 101 is quite good. Bit old now and geared for an American audience, but still worth watching if you have any interest in Israel/Palestine.

Just finished watching The Corporation now mate. Absolutely brilliant documentary. Thanks for the recommendation. Absolutely chilling stuff. And I completely agree on Naomi Klein. She's not conventionally highly attractive but there's definitely a magnetism about her.
