On a different level to that melt McILory
McIlroy made a big mistake for his game (though not his wallet admittedly) by switching clubs and putter mid-season.
Glad to see him starting to put things together this week. A Sunday pairing of Rory and Spieth at a major would be ace

Probably the toughest mentally of any sportsman in the world

Yes and no. Listening to him answer questions at that press conference just now (which was amazing in it's transparency), he's mentally all over the place.

I think it further shows why he gives his caddy so much credit. He apparently always knows what to say in the right moment to give Jordan the mental strength to pull through.

He might not feel like he's calm and everything is under control. But he looks like it when he's playing. He recovers so quickly to massive errors whilst most of the other top players get into a spiral and compound their mistakes.

Impossible not to respect Speith. What a player and what a competitor!

To recover from the 13th like that was just pure class.

Not really liked him so far but, massive respect to how he handled the 13th and his play afterwards was that of a champion.
Fair play to the way he went round the fans at the end also.

I think it's different with every player. It seems like they make a perfect partnership. It's like he's his in game coach.

I was being a bit silly and laughing at 'I started to get down on myself'...then gave his caddy all the credit.
Childish I know .

Totally agree with your point of his caddie helping him through the round, he does seem to rely on him (not sure who called the line of the putt wrong though?).

That moment where Spieth's caddie stood right in his line on the 13th, acting all oblivious, and Jordan had to remind him to get out of the way... that might have been what cleared his head. The whole crowd laughed and he hardly put a foot wrong after that.

Judging by some other contenders Spieth will have some competition . Rory looked great eventually and that Cabrera Bello is some player.

And if Fowler gets one major, I'm sure he'll get more.

But Spieth is so wired it's amazing.

.....just got in from an amazing day at the Open in great company. Sat on the 14th with a bet on Speith @ 16-1 and one @ 45-1 for him to win by 3 shots or more, my son and I thought he'd blown it on the 13th. We couldn't see what was happening but knew he'd taken a drop. His tee shot at the 14th was the best we'd seen in 3 hours, utterly brilliant. Great theatre, he got the birdie to draw level and the rest is history. Won by 3, tremendous when it mattered. Great dad and lad day.

What a great sight that tee shot had to be.
