Gerrard and other players have known for weeks, if not months, that he was leaving the club. This whole saga is now smoke and mirrors.

His family home in Formby was rented out to Rodgers's at the start of the season. Why do this unless you're considering a move away?

Gerrard's situation is similar to that of Carragher: offered a contract but only for one year and a meagre amount compared to current deal.

Brenda doesn't see him in his long term plans, therefore if he needs to stay it's on his terms. Carragher said no; Gerrard has said the same.

I do not like Gerrard, but I am sure he has a major influence in their dressing room. Letting him go will hopefully have a detrimental effect!

This talk about the greatest Liverpool midfielder is offensive to their teams of the 70's and 80's, yet he has been a top player. He'll be missed.
