Yeah that was defo weird. Iirc he publicly spoke out about the god awful football we were playing which probably didn't help his cause with Koeman, who as we know has a bit of an ego himself.

I'm hoping a decent spell abroad, coupled with us looking a much better footballing team in the 2nd half of the season will at the very least give him a pre-season to prove himself.

For the Europa League alone I think we'd be fools to sell him this summer.
 
So what's happening here, is he coming back or what? Milan have confirmed they aren't going to buy him but weren't Barcelona interested in exercising their buy-back clause? Or have they lost interest too?

I'm definitely all for giving him another chance, he's clearly very talented and still one of the best crossers in Europe. We could absolutely use a player like him next season, especially in Europa League. Hopefully Koeman opens the door for him to prove himself and Geri seizes it. I'll be very disappointed in the player if he just spends all summer sulking and trying to force a move.

Yes but you're forgetting one major point here. Koeman has never played a game of FIFA nevermind own a copy.
Lads here are experts at it , and that counts for a lot more than coaching badges and European cup wins

He's got lungs like a goldfish though, hense playing in the OAP league for a season suited him.
