I don't think it was a talk it was more of a veiled threat I think. I.e saying they could just get barca to buy him back for 12 and Milan then buy him for 15 type thing.

Likely to gauge enquire if Barca where going to be interested in taking him back in the summer or if they would have a free run at him mate after his loan

I am not sure that Koeman would buy a player like Rom and build a team around him...which is pretty much where we are. He inherited the player and he is so good that the manager has been forced to change his style somewhat while attempting to do the same to the player.

I think we have seen that he prefers a more hardworking centre forward who might score less goals but contributes more to the team effort.
At the moment they are probably trying to turn Rom into such a player, which would probably make him into the perfect centreforward of his type in the world.

We saw at Southampton he had Long and Pelle and I would guess that when we sign an attacker it will a player of that ilk.

Probably why we were linked with Belfodil, he fits that mould.
