Gerard Deulofeu

Great point.

I alluded to this a week or so ago.

Prior to yesterday we sat second in the table, unbeaten and having made the best start to a league season since the Pope was an altar boy.

Albeit our performances had the feel of the curate's egg......good in parts.

But we, the fans, were buzzing and eagerly anticipating the next game.

At no time did the manager appear to share our excitement.....everything was downplayed in public.

Now, on the face of it that is no big thing.

He plays it down in public but behind the scenes he is fist bumping the players and generating the same excitement in the dressing room as we feel in the stands, then sending out a team brimming with confidence on a Saturday

Alas that performance yesterday stank of lack of confidence.

Why should this be so when the results have been almost perfect?

It suggests to me Ronald exudes the same dampening of expectations behind the scenes as he does in front of the cameras.
Great post except I meant buzzing not bussing obvs

Unfortunately managers seem to either be dour or overly positive. Why can't they just read the situation and act accordingly.

He will be in the team by Christmas.
Just needs to get sharper. He started last season like he's started this, then gathered some momentum.
KM is on borrowed time on the left, I reckon.

He shouldn't be playing on the left in all fairness.

Bizarre decision by Koeman to stick with it - when he's clearly much better on the right or central.

Didn't KM have his best season of his career at Olympiakos off the left?

In Greece like - and he played mainly as a second striker I believe.

I'm not using it as an excuse as he's been pretty poor the last few games.

But he's always looked better for us on the right IMO - where he can either go wide onto his stronger foot or cut inside and link up play.

On the left he's just too predictable, and it's even stranger considering that Bolasie seems to be much more effective left side as well.

Definitely agree with you in relation to Bolasie, just with KM I think he's been simply substandard and deserves dropping.

Deulofeu isn't in form atm yet he still applies pressure, puts crosses in and tries to make things happen. Deserves credit I think.

One thing I would say in KM's defence has been his work-rate. However, his attacking impact in the last few games has been pretty much non-existent.

We'll see in four days anyway :)
