When he came to the club in his first loan he was fantastic. I remember him destroying teams by himself, Stoke being a particular highlight.
Then he got injured. Didn't really get over it until the end of the season. Went to Sevilla and got his confidence shattered. Came back started well and got his confidence shattered again due because we weren't able to play Rom, Ross and Geri in the same team due to their work rate. Started this season and while he has knuckled down and improved his work rate he has been played out of position and as a sub etc knowing the manager doesn't really rate him and again his confidence is shattered.
I want to see the confident arrogant kid we saw when he first came but I'm beginning to think like Barkley mentally he just doesn't have what it takes although at least he is trying to sort out the defensive side.
I get the impression Big Ron doesn't rate him and he will be a bench player. I doubt he will develop as we all want him to at Everton.

As I said above, there's a whole bunch of them in the squad at Everton that will keep us a mid table club unless something gives. They either develop and perform or go.
Enough worshiping footballers. Let's start finally worshiping the team after 3 decades of dross.

RK knows more about top level football than the whole of this forum put together.

What form is that mate? The inconsistent world beater of the first half of last season? Or the dross we get otherwise? I could give Geri a decade as I am a fan. Problem is, half the 11 is the same. And I am over them collectively.
I understand and feel your pain but I don't think blaming a 22 year old who hasn't started a league game in his natural position deserves to be singled out.

It's a team game and collectively we were poor against Bournemouth. Not one player had a good game.

The biggest disappointment is the early season pressing is now missing and the movement of the ball is poor. For a team that should have been bussing with confidence they played like one that had zero. Everton that.

For the rest of them? If they can't work twice as hard to press after our great start to the season, then nothing can save them unfortunately.

Great point.

I alluded to this a week or so ago.

Prior to yesterday we sat second in the table, unbeaten and having made the best start to a league season since the Pope was an altar boy.

Albeit our performances had the feel of the curate's egg......good in parts.

But we, the fans, were buzzing and eagerly anticipating the next game.

At no time did the manager appear to share our excitement.....everything was downplayed in public.

Now, on the face of it that is no big thing.

He plays it down in public but behind the scenes he is fist bumping the players and generating the same excitement in the dressing room as we feel in the stands, then sending out a team brimming with confidence on a Saturday

Alas that performance yesterday stank of lack of confidence.

Why should this be so when the results have been almost perfect?

It suggests to me Ronald exudes the same dampening of expectations behind the scenes as he does in front of the cameras.

Bad results happen Khal.

Interesting to note that Bournemouth beat Sotton 2-0 at the Vitality last term. Maybe Howe has just figured out a way to get the better of Koeman's tactics?

But, fwiw, Koeman was seething in the presser afterwards - clearly. That first half performance was dreadful and he had no issues in admitting it.

Starting to think that del isnt as good as we all thought he could be.

Seems to be ineffective unless running at defenders, getting around the box he seems limited compared to bolasie who can whip crosses even when not playing as well.

Agree with all of that.
