Well, that's the problem isn't it? They rarely do get prosecuted. And besides, prevention is what most people are looking for here. Better trained police who don't shoot first and ask questions later, it's not actually that big an ask.
It is a difficult situation for the police as well. I'm no fan of the police, but in a country where guns are so easy to come by and where they obviously aren't well trained, they must go into every day in a state of panic. That is not going to help.

America needs to remove guns and sort social injustice. Neither of which will happen any time soon.

Personally think it’s the opposite in a way. There was rioting and looting during the civil rights movement in the 60s but you wouldn’t use that denigrate the cause or the subsequent changes to legislation.
These acts are generally highlighted by people who wish to undermine the objectives of the movement and maintain the status quo.
Every protest and mass event seems to attract the wrong element who don't intentionally to join in. They use the event to carry out things of this nature. They know the majority of the cops are dealing with the protest.

Easy pickings I their mind. The problem is the cops and politicians then blame the movement like they solely responsible for everyone that turns up.

I remember in Dublin many years ago some scum bags turned up to upturn cars and break windows at peaceful protest over student housing. The Gardai started whaling on the peaceful protestors.

Think it was the anti austerity marches in London a decade ago when the organisers said a load of people turned up fully masked causing trouble. No one knew who they were but that’s what got all the headlines and tarnished the whole protest.
Not particularly a conspiracy theorist but its a fairly simple way to discredit a movement and deflect from the protesters aims.

Totally agree with this, but are the people commiting the acts actually part of the movement though??

They may not be. But if any of them are black, or any of them are against the killing of people by Police, then they are undermining the cause in respect of BLM and should be ashamed.....

It defo is. In most cases its a scum thieving element in others like that case its a rogue group out to like you say discredit the movement.

We saw that at BLM marches this year and last year too. Remember Seattle organsiers got the blame for those all blacked dressed guys with masks smashing up Starbucks. The right called them antifa. Only about 50 or so were dressed like that everyone else like normal.

Rational people see it for what it is. Agenda types are out tonpoint fingers.

Of course, and that will always happen when selfish people loot shops, destroy property or cause trouble...Football was tarnished when its hooligans caused trouble, even though they were a tiny percentage of the football going population.....

Something tells me he won't get the most serious charge of second degree murder.

I read that even if he does, and it carries a term of up to 40 years, he'll likely only serve a maximum of 10 anyway. Crazy.

Desperate for justice to be served here.
