Unfortunately It’s what happens though. Starts with an ideal, good people raise the issue peacefully, extremists (activists) get involved then it’s taken over by the usual anarchists and it descends into violence and chaos.....
Nah in my opinion, it’s generally a minority with some small incidents taking place that are jumped on by the press and subsequently politicians creating moral panics. Has happened for decades

We are now approaching the two-month mark since the riots that erupted across the United States in late May and early June. There is a reasonable argument to be made that these riots were unprecedented in U.S. history — or at the very least, since the 1960s. Yet if one surveyed the national media today, you’d barely even know anything happened. Nor would you likely be aware that those who bore the brunt of the destruction — largely minorities whose sensibilities don’t fit into any neatly-delineated ideological category — are still acutely suffering from the fallout.

this didnt decend in to violence and chaos, it was born because of violence and chaos.
this started when a bunch of cops killed a man for no reason in broad daylight in front of people and showed no emotion. This act led to their precinct being over run and burnt down.
We have violence and chaos, not because of a hand full of anarchists, rather, because we have an inept federal government who are pouring petrol on a fire because they see the opportunity to score political points in an election year.

I’m f’ing disappointed. The Chaz was the beginning of the end. That and the statues. The conversation has been hijacked by extremist idiots and now its message is indecipherable.
This is designed to create an unbridgeable gap between sides that cannot be healed.

The extremists hate America and want it destroyed so they can dance in its ruins. The America they hate created slavery and elected Trump, so it is not worthy of redemption. Burn it all down. This is the best time time they have ever had. They've been waiting for this kind of opportunity their entire lives. Try to stop it now. The go signal has been given.

It is easy for them to be forgiven right now by those who share that burning Trump hatred, but realize what they wish to destroy is much bigger than one man.

You may miss it when it's gone.

Pffft. What a load of hysterical nonsense. You are gobbling up the far right narrative. Surprising really.

At one point we were actually discussing qualified immunity, community policing, racial profiling, etc. I was actually impressed that initially the riots were steering people towards those conversations and was glad we were finally discussing these things on such a broad scale, but when it all boils down to it we aren’t even mature enough to have said conversations.

And these extremists are so few in number that entertaining their doomsday scenario as something the least bit likely to occur is utterly ridiculous.

Hope you're right. Fear you aren't.
There were a few, maybe 100 or so, protesters outside the federal courthouse before trump sent his goons in. It was a calculated move to frame an enemy in the narrative and it’s working.
he wasn’t successful chasing BLM so he went after AntiFa. And seeing as they weren’t really a thing of any note, he needed to make them a thing.
Now he can energise his base and distract everyone else.
it all stinks of Steven Miller.

Chaz was a stupid idea from the beginning.
It trivialized the movement. Before the Chaz BLM was all over the timeline, all my friends would talk about it and everyone was gung-ho about getting things done. Now everyone is just sick of it as we are getting absolutely nowhere, and it all started with the Chaz. It gave Trump his excuse to get the feds involved and here we are, talking about trivial nonsense instead of police brutality and how to fix the problem.
