Nope. The idea that there is some big contingent of Americans who hate based on race just isn't reality. Now, most progressives seem to acknowledge that and thus pin their positions on systemic racism or equivalents. But even accepting that as true, it’s not the type of learned hatred you reference.

The problem is that white police officers are killing black citizens for little or no reason. Pure and simple. You would have to be extremely over-sensitive or dim to believe that the protesters were truly referring to all white people. Let's feel sorry for the white people, some of them might feel insulted.

While point is to gain sympathy for the cause and thus enact change.

You don't achieve that by the encompassing label "white people".

I think I'd be on the streets protesting too if I was American. I don't see anything but a criminal racist gang in police uniforms above the law brutalising people and in this case murdering a black man.

Add in peiple losing their jobs and going stir crazy for months and the jackass comments from their politicians and generations of racial oppression this is going blow up.

What occurs to me is...after looking in the China Minorities thread is
Both USA and China have over zealous factions in their law enforcement agencies.

China's seems to be a top down system and their attitude is 'If you don't like it koff, we mostly don't give a 'k what you think.' unless you have a lot of clout.
The USA seems to be a bottom up system and Do care what you think...but only if you have enough clout to embarrass them into changing

The problem is when these protesters use the generic label "white people" as their enemies, which is happening a lot.

It makes the "white people" sympathetic with their concerns think "well screw you then". Rightly so too as that's simply the opposite form of racism.

It's not a "white people" problem; it's a cultural and institutional problem.

Part of that shows a woman getting tasered, some context would be nice, it's easy to mash together a compilation of cops acting like idiots without giving the full story, not defending what happened in Minnesota but people putting a video to prove police brutality by using short clips is not helpful. Here's why she actually got tasered.
