you prolly think meemaw won't have you 'round for thanksgiving no more cause-a yer deplorable politics, but it's actually just cause no one can figure out what in tarnation yer yappin' and hollerin' about...

please tell me it was at least someone smarter than Ayn Rand or Jordan Peterson what did it!

That's a trick question. All us deplorables ever do is sit around and debate which one of those two is the greatest genius. Peterson is unquestionably a better writer.

Anybody smarter than them two is too smart to have any sense or gumption, anyways... Right?

It’s an decision whose problems could continue to be felt some time in the future . I totally get the desire for a conservative justice but Given the nature of the allegations and the obvious issues with his testimony wouldn’t it be easier to just select another one ? I don’t understand the desire to die in a ditch over this fella , he came across are a deeply divisive not to mention unpleasant individual surely the sensible thing would be just to select another candidate?

I do also understand there would be concern we’d see potentially politically motivated allegations but we didn’t see anything like that with Gorsuch.
This. I mean at this point, any normal administration would just say "thanks but no thanks", save face in the court of public opinion (while winning perhaps a few moderates, who are going to be key in the upcoming couple of elections), and select from the other dozen or so conservative leaning justices out there for the gig.

But we're in a world where logic is gone. It's now just about winning battle by battle, whatever that means.

Sad but true. This went past a question of the SCOTUS seat when it became about the man's character. Any backing down is an implicit admission of guilt. This is what Kav's side understands instinctively and is what is unimaginable to anyone not on his side.

Slim Pickens is waving his hat and whooping it up all the way down. The vote will take place. Wait for the impact.

ed - every day there are fewer "moderates." This is the saddest and truest part of this whole sad show.

This is what happens when Fox News leads people down the path to allowing someone like Donald Trump in office. Anyone that's left of this right wing mess has to be a Democrat now, because the Republicans have shown their true colors getting in bed with this cancer

In a time of false equivalencies, this may be the biggest one

It's because of Fox News we have the whole 'fake news' phenomenon. They report completely made up scandals that is red meat to their fans. CNN and others don't report on those same stories (because they aren't actually stories), and because they believe Fox's lies they view the MSM as fake news.

Uranium One was a massive scandal they completely misrepresented for at least 2 months. The 'MSM' didn't report on it because it was in fact fake news.

I hope that at some point the FCC forces them to drop 'news' from their name.

I mean, in hindsight, McGovern was a bit of a dope, but going all in on the "tragedy repeats as farce" iteration of Nixon in 2016 is... throwing the baby out with the bathwater, to say the least.

I'm glad for 1972 muzzruh's sake that he'll never see what you're done with the place ; )

What if we find out in twenty years or so that he was right? I won't be around, or if I am I'll be looking for my drool cup, but please remember what you believed now in light of future evidence. It's how I got to where I am today. I worked for McGovern and voted for Dems until not all that long ago. I used to have two Union cards in my pocket. All politicians, left or right, depend on the public forgetting the history and buying the narrative to substitute for the real history.

The gaslighting is nonstop. As personally repellent as Trump is, I find myself forced to defend his supporters. Thanks for keeping our critics engaged. Good work.
Then its an infinitely preferable scenario to him serving 20yrs and is finding out he was lying and/or wrong.

This isn’t a criminal trial, Kavanaugh doesn’t have a human or civil right to a seat on the Supreme Court. It’s a job interview.

If in the process of your next job interview you were accused of sexual assault and then lied when asked about the incident (and lied about other issues) - do you think you’d get the job?
