He lost his last election in Harris County (Houston) by 17 points.
Houston is a bit of a mixed bag. The County Judge, who isn't really a judge but more like CEO of the county, is usually a Republican and since the early 80s the mayor is a Democrat. But most people generally agree Ted Cruz is a pendejo.
