So if the EU element with US support was critical, why have the EU done everything they can to put a barrier in the way of NI.

By ‘undemocratic’ you actually mean that you ignored the actual result of a democratic vote. Leave won by 1.4 million votes, slightly more than the whole of the NI electoral roll… I don’t really care how the US is on your Irish issue, because it has nothing to do with them, I just wish they would mind their own business or at least try and understand the issues before pronouncing on the subject……

Take thi chat a proper thread will you. It's the UK ripping up its own signed treaties and lying to everyone that's caused the recent issues. That's after causing the while initial cluster**** by having a stupid EU vote in the first place!!! And its undemocratic as the North of Ireland statelet voted Remain by a huge margin in 2016 and then has backed pro Protocol parties in all recent elections.

The vote was a U.K. wide vote, not a city or regional or even country vote, it was a U.K. vote…which bit of this do you not understand…..

From his seat on the Senate foreign relations committee, he helped push the Clinton administration into committing resources and political capital to brokering the agreement

It was Clinton, pure and simple. And the US has no guarantor role, some just like to think they have, but they don’t….

Decent summary of voting talking points that I wish the sit-on-their-hands mainstream Democrats would somehow make much more available to swing voters.

Have it on very good authority that Robert Reich is incredibly gracious with his time. Don't always agree with him, but everything he says here is sound. If I wanted to quibble, it would be on the crime issue, and I'm about as anti-gun as you'll find. I think these numbers (and others) support the argument that the Republican argument is calumny. I'm not quite sure they permit turning the tables.
