How Jenner think she will get votes is beyond me. 6 Republicans are running against a guy who still had 50% popularity based on 4 different poles.
The right are less tolerant of the trans community than anyone else. Jenner won't will pull out or come last.
Thing is the 12% rule is absolutely ridiculous. To get the recall that is. Why o. Earth haven't the Democrats changed that by now.
I am not Newsoms biggest fan but in all reality what has he done wrong. The birthday party at that restaurant really. Because he wouldn't let schools play sports or people walk on thw beach. Their reasons are fecking stupid.
No laws broken and handled just as well.if not better than at least 12 other governors from both parties.
Power grab is all that this is. Any excuse to try lay blame from a bunch of d***heads who refused to wear masks and who wanted their freedoms. Dopes.
By the by if a Republican guy was in the hot seat I would say the same. This is abuse of what a recall should be used for.

Also, he’s up for regular re-election in 18 months. Just an altogether idiotic waste of time and resources.
Somewhere between $80-$400 million of taxpayer funds that could be put to far better uses not to mention all the private spending, utter waste.
Of course there is still no guarantee that he will survive recall, we of course live in a state where weird things happen and it just takes a bad fire season/earthquake or a COVID variant that could make a dent in that 50% popularity.
Once the ads start running three of those candidates will be dead in the water. The guy who was mayor of San Diego being one. Faulkner. That Davis being the other and Jenner.
I would say traditionally they would stand a good chance of overturning his reign given the lefts inability to mobilize for special elections. But that was before Georgia happened. It woke the left up. If you want it you have to fight for it.
He is better than all 6 the republican candidate's. That's not because they are republican either.
Again I don't like Newsom but I feel the left one let this pathetic power grab pass them by this time.
Sure some lefty will not vote for him but the left in the governors race has been a comfortable since they lost the last recall. Heck Gerry Brown managed to get in again comfortably haha!
If they are smart they will run advertising saying 1.6m are trying to decide for 20m etc...
They will remind people who is behind it and their record. Oh and maybe aske Stacy Abhrams people for advice haha
Given there will be a shift and spots lost too in the senate next go around they have to fight more than they have ever done.
But I do agree anything can happen. Given that 12% was the low bar set for a recall. That's astonishing.
In the UK its 10% of registered voters in any constituency to get recall of the MP. The law has only been in place since 2015 and has been used on 3 occasions since then.
Is the 12% the same for all states or does it vary? Given the issues in the recent US elections I can imagine this becoming fairly common in future where senate elections etc. are close.

For what I understand it varies by state. In the US only 39 states have provisions allowing for recallof certain elected officials at the local and state level.
The signature requirement varies by state, some of them having a threshold as high as 25% while a couple of states have it as low as 10%.
There are also 39 states that allow for recall of local elected officials.
Gillibrand has spent a lot of her time working for sexual assault survivors, hope this gets passed.
