Given this is Pompeo’s last day in office this seems more like an attempt to cause difficulties for Biden admin than the principled stand it warranted.

I am glad Democrats are pushing to pass "The People Act" (which would restore the Voting Rights Act, bolster voter protections and election infrastructure, toughen campaign finance rules and disclosures, and impose new executive branch ethics rules). We need to restore trust in our voting system that Republicans have been happily eroding away for years.
It's absolutely staggering how much needs to be either codified by law or reworked to make harder to ruin. The FEC is gutted. The State Department is gutted. Everything about global warming is gutted. Ajit Pai needs to be thrown in jail ffs. The fn Justice Dept needs to be purged. Stephen Miller needs to be thrown away completely. CDC, NOAA
I mean, that's without even remembering all the dozens of other things that have been ruined by Trump. If somone said they would pay you 10billion to ruin the government and you were in Trumps position I don't know if anyone could have done a better job than he did.
Ethics department have teeth, tax returns, divesting of conflicts of interest!

Indeed, but its the right policy. What they are apparently doing is horrifying, and the rest of the world need to step up to stop it.
And thankfully the new admin do seem to agree that it is horrifying
However agree with them as well that Pompeo doesn’t get to claim any credit for doing this on the last day and not making moves earlier.
