Pathetic how inadequate he is, isn’t it? And all he managed to do to compensate was become one of the world’s two or three most expert authorities on infectious disease.

Nevermind that since this started people I and my GOP acquaintances both know have applied for unemployment, gotten it, made more money on it, and gone back to their regular job as soon as it became available again. Totally disregarding that jobs may also include benefits...such as healthcare. Especially important since GA rejected Medicaid expansion

Far be it for me to defend Tom Cotton, but the headline is somewhat misleading IMO. His full quote is “We have to study the history of slavery and its role and impact on the development of our country because otherwise we can’t understand our country. As the Founding Fathers said, it was the necessary evil upon which the union was built, but the union was built in a way, as [Abraham] Lincoln said, to put slavery on the course to its ultimate extinction.”

Still not ideal obviously, but also not as inflammatory as the headline wants you to believe. Of course, Tom Cotton is entirely to blame for his track record which makes a headline like that seem perfectly believable in the first place.

Clay Travis is basically just a professional troll. He’s definitely a smart guy, and I actually enjoyed his first couple books about college football. However, knows full well that most of his audience is of the MAGA variety, and plays to them. It’s worked out very well for him financially.

He’s also the guy who tried to take Delta to task a few years ago for not allowing his lice-ridden child to board a flight.
