I dont follow politics anywhere near as much as the regulars in here, nor am I as firmly entrenched in a position as most of you.

C'est la vie.

But as someone with an interest in politics, this government havnt half picked some half baked, frankly daft, (in a political sense), groups to start a fight with.

Like the actual cost of these latest cuts, over the 4 years or so, are, in an overall budget, a rounding error. Same with the junior doctor contract thing.

Politically, makes no sense to this observer.

I honestly think it's a case of cram in as many ideological but unpopular decisions while they can.

They can do anything they want as there is no effective Opposition. The Labour Party may as well make IDS their leader as he's scoring more points against the Government than Corbyn.......

Well, of course IDS resigning is going to be more damaging than anything Corbyn can say or do, that is a no brainer. The Opposition at this stage just have to sit and watch the Tories in self-destruct mode.

Sounds like a cunning plan........opposing without actually opposing........

Corbyn is a looney commie who (along with MaoDonnell) sympathises with Hamas and the IRA. Labour need a 10% swing for a majority of one in 2020, and that is before pro-Tory boundary changes. He's doomed. Install a sane person (i.e. not Corbyn/Miliband), and you may have a chance. The Tories are hardly popular/competent themselves.
