Marshall of the RAF
No such rank
Marshall of the RAF
I beg to differ.

From the RAF site.I wouldnt trust Google or Wikipedia; the 5-star MRAF rank was done away with mid/late-90s. Now, the Chief of the Air Staff is a 4-star Air Chief Marshal, as would a Chief of Defence Staff (next one is in fact light blue, later this year).
The rank no longer exists, although some ex-MRAFs still alive retain the right to use the title etc.
In other countries they wouldn't have voted for them.In other countries they'd storm the Commons, beat IDS to death with sticks and stone Gideon while he pleads for his life. Good job we're a democracy eh.

Is there something specific that folk might strike about, or just a vague "we hate the tories" thing about it? Like who is organising it?
I bow to your judgment.I'll scold them at Air Command when I get back there on Friday! But I'm guessing it's due to allay any confusion or pedants writing in saying they've seen Lord Coffin-Dodger wearing the old MRAF slides in his ceremonial garb; as I say, previous officers of that rank can still wear it and hold the title til they die. Ordinarily, the ranks only go up to 4-star now (I believe it's the same for the Army and Navy, too)

So, the armed forces going on this strike then?![]()
