It's catch-22 basically, he wants a long deal with a decent wage, we want him to be as cheap as possible for the short term.
Unfortunately as in most aspects of modern football the player holds all the cards and from the sound of it he isn't short of offers.
If he can maintain last years form then it wouldn't be the worst thing in the world with the added games and then allows us to ease the younger lads through.
