I cut the grass today, that's gardening enough for me.

Yep. Still got the bottle of poison you suggested as well. Bamboo has stabilised, so will deal with it as and when. Got a garden plan now the grass is cut.

Got tons on of time as well, for the first time in years.

I had murder with getting rid of my bamboo,25 ft long about 10 foot high hedge, had two gardeners look at it neither wanted the job.
Tried all sorts of chemicals to get rid, ended up , chopping it down to ground level, dug a bit around the rootball then , used a Drill fairly big one , had a concrete breaking chisel on it (got it from the lidi )and just chipped away at the root from the outside inwards, had the lot up after a day and a half, you have to make sure you get every bit out some of the shoots go out about 5 or six foot out.
Been a year now get the odd little bit but easy to get out with a trowel .
Wasnt as bad as I thought when you got the knack of it
More boring than hard work really.

No need now ground cover matting pinned down plus pearl oyster pebbles pebbles plus plants no weeds to hoe .... too old now my hoe has a soft bit in the middle full of woodworm - my hoeing days are over......

Lawn pre and post advice from @Joey66 looking a lot better, getting a sprinkler at some point to make the watering easier. Would do something with the back bit, but rented so won’t bother.

Kin paving is so expensive -mine aint great and could do with some more put down as got quite a decent sized garden but alot of grass but quoted 4k for what I would like doing.
