Just watched the first episode of the new series.
I am irritated by the lack of resolution over Jon Snow and underwhelmed overall.
Melisandre being an old woman is semi interesting I suppose and the Sand Snake revolt in Dorne suggests another war. Nothing else happened.

I thought it was pretty good, they packed a fair bit in. You just know the religious peeps, the dornish snakes and the boltons are getting set up to cop an absolute pasting.
The Boltons are sitting pretty for a fair while yet. There is no one to take them on.
Maybe the other Northerners will rise up behind a Stark banner.

Well that was certainly interesting.
Sansa is finally (semi) safe, Dorne has went tits up (bloody sand snakes) and Melisandre is an old lady. I don't think that the necklace keeps her young, but is just a symbol of her power. I think that scene helps to remind viewers that the Red Priestess absolutely has magic powers. Preparing viewers for a certain resurrection scene...?
