Come on I've read the books from day one and know exactly what happens and what doesn't happen ! If you like what Benioff and Weiss are getting away with fine, I don't .

I haven't read the books. I might start though. Things like this don't really bother me, just the same as violence etc. just fiction. I watch Hannibal and sometimes they go to the extreme with things, it doesn't bother me.

The TV show is BASED on the books only, im pretty sure the TV show is a million miles off the books now.

I've been a pretty big supporter of the series so far, but FTY was right. Stannis' character was completely annhilated and it's a pretty big straw for me.

This. Visually yes it was good, but the total annihilation of Stannis' character, his morals, and what he stands for has totally ruined the series and pretty much the show for me.

Can't see how they'll come back from this or even where they'll go.

He always had a code. They sacrificed all the depth of character they built up for him this season for one admittedly shocking moment. It was just a senseless and illogical step for him.

Exactly, there was a reason Stannis was built up as some big saviour of the north. Now he's no worse than Roose.
