Game Of Thrones: Season 8

Well apparently continuity on the show doesn't matter anymore. Characters are now acting completely at odds with the personality they've had for seventy odd episodes so why would just ignoring the deaths of countless Dothraki in the previous episode matter eh? Logic be dammed.....
Which characters are acting completely at odds with their personalities? I agree some of the episodes have been sub-par (this was especially poor) but not sure that aspect is something I agree with.

Also, we saw that all the Dothraki didn't die as they showed them running back with Jorah. Those that are left are with Dany and the unsullied. They made a point of explaining how many people they lost during the battle.

I defy anyone to watch that Bronn scene and think that it was in character with how he has behaved for the past eight seasons.

no mate. the 'twists' have been crap.. I don't know where they are taking this show.

the unexpected twists were what made the show initially, thinking about ned stark, then rob and his mum , plus loads of others...

the new writers are trying to replicate the twists but its not working whatsoever

but thanks for jumping in on one of my posts, you seem to like doing that
I think it's incredibly difficult to close out this type of ensemble show as there are so many different storylines that need to be resolved. It was obviously decided a few years ago that it would end with series 8 which may well not have left them with enough time to get to everything but I think they are doing an ok job given the task.

The slow episodes at this stage don't work as well as they did earlier on as they very much feel like filler as we knew the war with the Night King was coming and we know the war with Cersei is coming. But again I think a lot of this is a symptom of it being the final season. There's not as much time for twists and new developments as there's no time to explain them.

On a positive, I'd say it is still in no way clear how it is all going to resolve itself over the final 2 episodes and I think that is a sign that they are doing something right.

I agree there has been some poor writing in the last 2 series and the handling of some characters has been rubbish imo (I'm looking at you Bran). Hopefully they'll manage to close it out well in the last 2 episodes.

He's a mercenary. He's been promised one of the best castles in Westeros in order not to kill them. That's pretty in character. The only thing he normally would have done is get involved in the war but it's probably a case of him staying out of it to see who is winning/wins before choosing that side and getting Riverrun or preferably Highgarden.

... it isn't, though. Bronn was always a realist; playing one side that he knows will betray him (Cersei) off against another who has no reason or ability to give him what he wants (Tyrion / Jaime) for something that is totally unrealistic is not in his character.

It would have been far more in character if he had just taken the money and went to Essos to live like a king for the rest of his days.

Enjoyed the episode with some nice moments and genuine humour added.

It was never was going to be mind-blowing like the last episode but the script has been written for a upcoming War.

Key elements have been positioned and unrest in both camps have been seeded.

Battle won but War is unavoidable!

That wouldn't be in character at all! When has he ever taken the money and run? He's a mercenary but is weirdly honourable. He earns his rewards. Taking the money and running is the last thing he would do.

He is playing off Cersei because he know that Tyrion at least will stay true to his word (hence not just killing them). Jaime has screwed him around a bit but Tyrion has largely treated him well. And as Hand of the Queen he would be able to give him Highgarden should Dany take the Throne

Dont like what happened with Brienne in that episode, made her look a bit weak imo.

yeah, was a bit naff, didn't really make sense either. I fairly enjoyed the episode though, but i don't get how they skipped all suspense by showing any of the travelling etc.

couple of good surprises in that episode, though

Seems a bit stupid that the night king couldn't take out either dragon in the battle (suppose they did before), yet that idiot greyjoy took one down in a few seconds. Don't really get why she didn't reign fire on his whole fleet though, or at least go high and then around the back where none of the spears would have been able to attack her. Was expecting missande to watch greyworm die rather than the other way around, so good surprise.

I thought that was a total mess. One of the worst of the whole series.

Mainly because of the pacing. In previous seasons we had several episodes or even whole seasons showing how long it takes to get across Westeros/Essos.

Just look at the distance Daenerys' army would have covered to go from Winterfell to White Harbour (red), board their ships and sail to Dragonstone (blue), then regroup after the ambush somehow after losing their ships and head to Kings Landing (yellow). This happened all in about 40 minutes in that episode. No preparations, no scouting, nothing. Might as well have instantaneous teleportation.

Oh and by the way, those dragons that have been hyped up for ages? Yeah the other one that nobody knows the name of gets wiped out, but Drogon gets to live because of Daenery's plot armour.

Brienne crying was out of character but I can see where that's going. I can see her being the one to kill Jaime.

god forbid there's some decent tactics in GOT. Flying round back would've been fairly simple from the looks of it.

Also, how do you get surprised by a dull on Fleet when you're in the air, when the enemy can seemingly spot you and aim at a moving target.
