I understand the criticisms of the writing some are giving that episode but I think a lot of credit should be given to the way it was directed, which I thought was magnificent. Best battle direction I've seen since Lord of the Rings. The only thing I'm disappointed in was the lack of a Theoden-esque rallying call from Jon before it began.

That bit about Arya being on a prolific loan spell creased me.

Enjoyable episode with some ropey CGI at times. Glad the night king stuff is over, can get back to the scheming and politics now.

Also glad none of the main characters died to white walkers, would have been a cheap way to die... much better if they die at the hands of a human character.

Completely unworthy comparison. You can actually see what’s happening in the LOTR.

It’s also not even the best battle in GOT. Blackwater, Hardhome and [Poor language removed] Bowl were far superior.

did Samwell tarley survive ??

can someone please name all the survivers please as it was hard to tell who got banjo'd and who didnt

The biggest issue is...with 2 Dragons Daenerys doesn't need an army. With that fire power the war should be over in a few minutes...yet, I anticipate her screwing it up somehow.
I think the ‘Scorpion’ may have the final say on the dragons:

It’s been part of the opening credits all season!
