Game Of Thrones: Season 8

The Night King was the ultimate koppite. Probably thought it was in the bag and was everyone's favourite character. But all the good guys hated that he had pushed over the wall and bought his dodgy friends from the far north on his budget airline/ dragon to experience a magical European away day. Even arranged pyro for the team's arrival at the opposition stadium. But just as he was about to complain about someone in a handicap spot taking his spot, he slipped and did a total fanta scruff.

Don't win nowt until winter's over NK. But the knife was only mm inserted, biased media, etc. Off you trot Night King.

It reeked of The Force Awakens in parts, Danearys picking up a sword and slaying white walkers despite the same white walkers diminishing an entire army in their path. Arya completely fooling the Night King who has been built up to be this indestructible character who can't be played.

I thought it was an epic spectacle and to be fair that's probably the final big battle of the show. However, they had to do more here for sure. Grey Worm should of gone, Brianne and Jamie should have gone even John should have gone. That was the time to raise the bar from the Red Wedding and they pussyed out of it.

It's turned into Lord of the Rings - not that it wasn't an epic trio of films but GOT was supposed to be a more mature, gritty and ultimately shocking experience.

If we'd seen a couple of major characters go, I think it would have really hit the spot. I am wondering to myself if the Night King and Bran had gone at the same time, would that have been a more satisfying conclusion? I would have like to have seem Grey Worm survive whilst Missandei died in the crypts. I would have lost one of Jamie or Brienne (or maybe both). That'd have been a seriously pared down cast going into the rumble with Cersei. I don't know about Dany or Jon, but blood must be spilled I think.

Can we envisage all the Lannisters and/or Starks being finished off at the end of this? In fact, could there even be anyone left standing? That'd be an intriguingly bleak ending.

They outpaced the books a few seasons back and the writings gone down from there. Still entertaining but not the same as the first few seasons

It's far too Hollywood in the last few seasons.

I enjoyed it yesterday. It was an epic. I just felt like it had something missing. I said last night that really it's probably just because I'd come to expect so much from GoT from the early seasons.

I reckon Bran and one of Jamie/Brienne going would have hit it home.

My main criticism is how the writers got the characters into such a screwed position and then copped them out of it (which in itself is fine because whatever way they did it it was gonna be a cop out to an extent) without actually doing any 'major' damage to some main characters.

Yeh the ones that have gone were good characters etc, but before I watched it they were pretty much the ones I would have had down as going.

They had an opportunity to really make the whole thing desolate, and they bottled it. And that's why - for me - an awesome and really surprising ending with what Arya did kind of felt like an easy out (when it shouldn't have done at all).

It all feels too easy. The NK walked straight into the trap that they set. Yes it looked like they had lost, but both Bran and Melisandre seemed to know what was going to happen. What was Bran doing warning for the whole ep. I feel there is more too it. Too many unanswered questions, what are the symbols? What did the NK want? Surely there has to be more to Bran and his whole story arc? There wont be as I feel this series has been pretty weak so far.

Still expect there to be some big twists and shocks but they could have done more with yesterday's ep.

Highlights for me were Arya, thought the acting was great by Maisie William's, but really enjoyed the NKs smile when the dragon fire didnt affect him. And I genuinely gasped when Ed copped it which was the only time in the ep.

Arya killing the NK as she did, but just as the NK kills off Bran or just after to shock the viewer that it really had gone past the point of return for the living. The ultimate distraction and would kind of fitted in well with Bran's dissociated character and his willingness to sacrifice everything and everyone to get to a key point in time. Mind you moaning about the show is almost as much fun as watching it.

A lot of WARHAMMER on here today.

It's a fun drama with Dragons and Knights just appreciate the episode and the production value.

I understand the criticisms of the writing some are giving that episode but I think a lot of credit should be given to the way it was directed, which I thought was magnificent. Best battle direction I've seen since Lord of the Rings. The only thing I'm disappointed in was the lack of a Theoden-esque rallying call from Jon before it began.

Jon Snow (c) -

Questions will be asked of the Winterfell captain's temperament and decision-making after he almost cost his team in a big game, and not for the first time. When these sides met in the reverse fixture he was fortunate to stay on the field and had to be bailed out by Winterfell legend Benjen Stark. Yet again his selfish desire to try and be the hero, rather than play in other better-positioned members of his attack, is hindering the team. It is clear he has a very poor tactical understanding of the game and has it all to prove going into the final. Literally tried to roar at a dragon. 1.

The biggest issue is...with 2 Dragons Daenerys doesn't need an army. With that fire power the war should be over in a few minutes...yet, I anticipate her screwing it up somehow.
