Transfer Rumour Gabriel (Lille)

He's coming to us, lads. Bit of last minute shuffling from either his agent to get him a better club or Lille looking to push the fee up.
United written all over it for me mate, Ole said they need a left footed centre back, and his people have been at Carrington. Think if he was coming here, we’d have heard something more solid since the season ending

On the plus side, reckon we’ve got an agreement in place with Barca for Todibo, that’ll get done pretty quickly if/when Gabby goes elsewhere

Speculations, speculations...

What do we know? Everton interested in signing Gabriel back i February?

A lot have changed since then. Heck, the entire world has changed.

Holgate kept improving throughout the season. Ancelotti seems to like Keane and he looks almost like a new player. Branthwaite came in and did a lot better than anyone could hope or expect. The need for a new CD is not the same as it was back in February. There is no reason to believe that Gabriel would be a definite starter if he came in.

Since February the club have sold Schneiderlin. While none of the current midfielders have showed much promise. Gbamin with new injury keeping him out. The need for a new midfielder seems more important now. You could argue that the club should drop getting a CD and spend the money on two new midfielders.

Post Covid the market for players without contract have become more interesting. And we are likely to see more good players going out on loan than ever before. We can expect more interesting short term options. To wrap up the transfer business early can be a big mistake this summer.

Everton are likely to have less money available for transfers than what was anticipated back in February. Gabriel in for £25M to improve the squad could be a great option back then. Not so sure it is today. This does not feel like a summer where you should pay +20 million for anything but certain starters.

Wow a sensible post on GOT

It took 150 odd pages before it sunk in with people that we weren’t signing Hojberg, we’re around the same amount of pages here now, time to accept he’s not coming here and get ready to accept our new defensive dynamo Ivanovic.

He’s also come out and welcomed Smalling back, bit of gamesmanship Maybe . But Roma want him on the cheap.

But similar to Arsenal Utd have loads of CB’s and who’s going to buy Jones or Rojo. And the also have Bailly and the youngster Tuanzebe

Keane has done ok but we let in quite a few goals over the last couple of games. And let’s not forget Southampton should have scored a few as well.

keane only suits a defend deep type system. And Ancelotti will not want that to be the shape moving forward. You can’t just concede possession to teams and hope to succeed.

even Leicester and southampton had
a lot more possession, which is shocking. Ok the awful midfield doesn’t help.

The money situation who knows, but if we buy Gabriel he will start. Ancelotti was furious how poor the back line was under pressure v Liverpool’s kids. And Keane isn’t great. Mina and holgate better but not amazing. Coleman atrocious.
And the league becoming more of a pressing league you need defenders that can cope.

Didn't he also come out and say he's sick of United being used in fake transfer roumors the day it was "reported" Gabriel was supposed to of been at Carrington.

This is what brands does, he finds out if the player wants to come then he bids what he thinks a player's worth then waits. Lille are holding out for a bidding war and are putting out stories to try to get us to bid against ourselves. Which you can't blame them for, it would of worked on us back when Walsh was here tbh.

Just a waiting game now see who blinks first and if brands has put a time limit on the deal on the table.

United look like their going for that lad from Monaco who's been labels the next varane. Arsenal have about 80 cb's on the books and no money. Napoli don't look like they'll be able to shift koulibaly with the price tag they've put on him, and won't be able to move in the transfer market till they've sold him. Chelsea maybe? But they need to sort out a left back before they sort out their cb's.

I think he'll end up here for what it's worth but I also think it'll be a long transfer saga as they say.

Theres so much wrong with this post.

1: No need for a centre back lol

2: Keane looks like a new player lol

3: Gabriel may not be a starter lol

4: Club should drop the idea of a new cente back lol

5: Players without contracts are more interesting lol

6: Gabriel for £25mil in jan isnt a good option a few months later lol

7: Again £20mil+ for Gabriel who wouldnt be a certain starter

I think you need a proofreader.

Exactly, we currently have Digne + Holgate as starting quality....Mina as a rotation option or move him on due to his salary and to freshen things up under Ancelotti.

I cant take anyone seriously who posts how Keane is "a new player". The bloke needs to go, imagine thinking hes a good player...

Absolute poppycock.

Hopefully move him on with the new left footed cb coming in.

Actually, the window just has started for 9 days and we dont get much from the selling.
You can also find that there are not many teams to invest much money now except the man city, man utd...
It seems the premier club will be cautious to rebuild their team due to COVID-19.
