Another great Australian Rules Champion was Nathan Buckley (see below). Very confident in himself, therefore nicknamed by his teammates "FIGJAM"

Phil Mickelson is called the same by guys on the tour.

Have a mate called Jammy, he got the nickname lets say by not caring what time of the month it is for a lady.

Got a mate called Jaffa, because he used to have a dog with no bollocks, which was called Jaffa.

His name's Mark, but we knew several Marks at the time, and it was easier to say "Jaffa Mark" than "Mark with the dog called Jaffa", eventually "Jaffa Mark" became just "Jaffa". Jaffa the dog died years ago, but the nickname hasn't.

...Liverpool Dockers were innovative at giving nicknames that literally stuck for life. One was called 'West Brom' because when the foreman asked if anybody fancied overtime he always answered "I'll be in".

I know a lad and his nickname is "Gravy". When we met everyone just called him this and when I asked why the answer was "because he's goes with anything!"

A bloke at work had a facial tick that made him randomly yawn while sucking air in very quickly

"Go and see the hot pie tester"

The footballer Musampa....called Chris. Loved that.

Had a mate we called Venus because he always had his mouth open.
Another called wingnut as his ears stuck out.
Plank coz he was as thick as 2 short ones
