Fernando would be immense. Depends whether we go for Natkho (i've heard of him but never seen him play, supposedly he'd half decent) - who'd be on a free in Jan. Both would be high earners, and Fernando would obviously require us to pay Porto a fee (probs £6/8mil.)

Natkho is very good mate, only issue is i doubt he'd want to come in as a squad rotation player and plays bang in the centre as his natural position, then again same can be said about fernando too, kinda a problem we have as are we gonna really drop mccarthy or barry for either and both are too good and well established to come in as a back up to these, unless the plan is to play 3 in the center, then what happens to ross?

Would rather Fernando myself, it appears as tho this other fella plays in Barkleys postion, we have other players we can play there, we only have 2 McCarthys and Barrys.

Nah he plays a lot deeper, he's like more of a Gibson, dictates the play from deep.

as FTY said mate he's more of a outright central mid, good shot on him and very good distributor, but more from deeper than playing off the front man like barkley does atm, FTY's comparisions with gibbo are a good one tbh, can see why he's on the radar as provides something we dont have without gibson

May sound harsh mate, but Long to me just sounds like a moyes type signing, hard working, committed, but lacking that certain bit of quality, had best part of 15 years watching that caliber of player at us and its a breadth of fresh air to have finally something here that gets us excited instead

However I was talking more in terms of having options upfront, obvs I'd choose Lukaku over Long, and when Lukaku leaves we'll have to get another striker. But for the rest of this season we can't rely solely on Lukaku, and I thought Long would be a decent shout given he's not short of pace and can beat a man.

Problem is mate, he wont sign for just a one year deal, so means we are then stuck with someone we dont see as part of the future for 2-3 years just to get ghim as 6 month cover this season, getting a wage and with our wages already high dunno m if its the right way, think the idea of getting a loan in from one of the money European teams, theirs plenty out their in a world cup year who will jump at the chance to get a few months footy in before the world cup, plus as were flying atm and with out depth they'd see it as a good chance to get some game time. and then in the summer let roberto adress the issue with a clean slate.

Failing that Mirrales up front is the best option given kones injury and jelavics resemblance to jamie carragher in hitting the net
