Even if his goal return was halved as a result of playing with poorer players at Everton, he'd still be bringing a similar goal return to Cahill at his peak.

Some Evertonians have a perverse logic, they'd have a finished Cahill who still has to serve a 3 match ban back in the squad, they think Fellaini is better than Peter Beardsley in his prime, and they wouldn't bring in Lampard because he "Only scores 15 goals a season, and just scoring goals isn't good enough". :lol:

Agree completely with you there.
What would we give to have a young Beardsley back in the squad? Mind you, if Fellaini is worth around £25m what on earth would a Beardsley cost in today's money.....£40m to £50m at least.
 
If he was a few years younger I wouldn't mind signing him but at 35 you've got to wonder how much use you're going to get out of him before his legs go, we can't run the risk of having another senior player on big wages who can't put a shift in especially in midfield.
