Apart from Crystal Palace our home performances have been dire which is very worrying for any manager if your team keeps losing in front of its own fans!

I think the players are so poor and lacking in quality, it doesn’t matter who the manager is, we’d be struggling to score or create and be down the bottom of the league. Some of the expectations for this season with the squad we have are wildly unrealistic. This has all been very predictable given the chance creation, assist and goals records of the players we have. We don’t have one X factor match winner.

The chickens are coming home to roost, we have no clever players with an eye for a pass in our midfield/attacking ranks close to the players we’ve let go in recent years. We have no goal scorers or match winners close to Richarlison.

It’s a season of struggle, keeping it tight and trying to pinch one. We get to the summer and still in this league and we build again, this time focussed on the forward line. That’s where we are and I’m not going to blame Lampard for inheriting a mess of a situation. He will need time.

Spot on assessment for me!

The flip flop fans are out in force again in this thread. Emery now ffs (completely forgetting the feller took over good solid teams, not sides almost relegated and needed to rebuild so can get straight in the bin).

Awful performance yesterday against a side now finding its feet with a better squad of players. No excuses as we're at home though.

Always has been plugging away and waiting until January to sort out our attack

Not getting a player like Kudus is really costing us - even if we’d signed him we’d still be well short.

Will we have any money in January - we can’t make any more McNeil type signings, getting bodies in just because they’re cheap.

We'll always be short until we give it time to build. It'll be glaringly obvious to everyone in charge what needs to improve.

Just find it incredibly frustrating how a vocal minority love to jump on the back on everyone and everything at the club after a defeat, or even foam at a draw, as if surviving with a game left last season didn't happen.

That was only 6 months ago.

The days of us blowing circa £34m on the likes of mcneil and maupay to pad out the squad need to end - we simply haven’t got the cash to waste anymore.

Emery has overachieved at several clubs, including two teams in a row guiding them to their first ever promotions to the league above. Almeria had never been in the top flight and he took them up and they finished 8th.

He took over at Valencia and got them to sixth in the league when they were broke and had finished 10th the season before. Then he got them to 3rd two seasons in a row.

What he did at Sevilla will probably never be repeated.

Bit odd to act like Emery is a crazy shout.
