Fourth Place?

we won something in the 60's, the 70's, the 80's, the 90's, and the fkn noughties or whatever it's called is the first decade we've had for a long fkn time without a big shiney pot, come on blues, it's about fkn time eh ?

I'm dreading the 15th of March tenth anniversary of Moyes taking over. He's done more things right than wrong in his time here - it's fair to say that - but I'll be cringeing listening to the nonsense getting trotted out about how we've been transformed and are lucky to have him blah blah blah.

For me, I expect what Moyes does as minimum as Everton manager: get them working 100% all of the time. That's no easy feat in this day and age, but basically that (and making a few early bargain-basement top-notch signings) is the sum total of his input. I really think we could and should have got a cup in the ten years he's been here. I know it's difficult, but others have done it outside the now traditional pot gatherers. And that's what it's all about at the end of the day. People can quote 4th/5th/6th place finishes at me all day long and talk about being best of the rest - it makes no impression whatsoever. It is what it is - a decade without winning anything under his charge. And it really infuriates me to hear him implying from time to time that failure was all that Everton knew before he arrived.

100% agreed. Top post that.

He's stopped the rot and had us playing some decent stuff. The European thing was nice and for a while it looked like we'd be making real progress. It's stalled though and it's been 17 years since we've won a trophy. Too long for us.

In an ideal world we'll get some half arsed [Poor language removed] in who can at least give him some funds for players. Once he's got that then there's no excuses about us not going through the "glass ceiling" everyone talks about.

I hate that we've become conditioned into being a mid table side. We're much better than that.

It's VERY difficult without cash to assault the citadel and take one of the cups: only Portsmouth, Blackburn, Boro and B'ham have done that in the 20 LC and FA Cups up for grabs since Moyes has been at Everton. Still, the failure to do so should be taken into account when his anniversary comes up. The plaudits have to be earned. You dont just get them by providing stability (and then standing back and watching as that stability you built up is knocked down with barely a whiimper because 'Bill's the best chairman in the world'). Ten years is a long time to be at the helm of a club like Everton and come up empty-handed.

I think any manager would struggle to bring in silverware to be fair

Dont agree this is a great post at all.

People forget all too soon- we were worse than dog poo, seriously bad and since we have had Moyes in charge we have had a 4th place, 6th place- European football and a cup final. Yes we should be aiming for higher but the fact is we arent in the same league as a lot of teams financially.

In my opinion we are lucky to have Moyes because frankly I dont think we would still be in the top league without him.

But the point is; we are in the Premier League with Moyes at the helm, we're 13th and he's got us playing like a pack of c*nts.

Quite frankly if 35'000 people didn't show up at Goodison every week we wouldn't be in the EPL, but they do, and we are...and so forth.

Wooooo, he's knocked that one right out the park
