Fourth Place?

I'm sorry but Moyes is really not doing it for me anymore.

Wins against Chelsea and City look good on the back pages for a day or two but if you're serious about challenging for Europe, you have to go places like the bottom 5 and muller them out of sight.

QPR were on a run of 5(?) straight defeats, totally devoid of confidence and Moyes trots out the usual defensive minded garbage. We should have battered them from the start, been 2 up by half time and gone on to close the game out comfortably.

Neville in midfield ahead of Barkley is criminal. Cahill offers zero, nothing, he's not even a menace to defenders anymore. Yes, they've been good servants to the club but that doesn't merit constant selection.

The substitutions were predictable yesterday. I know Drenthe was on a yellow but he was our only outlet that was offering even a glimmer of a goal threat. The forwards were starved by negative passing from midfiel to defense before the eventual long ball down the flanks that runs out for a goal kick again and again and again.

Anyway, rant over.

Get Jo on or something.

I agree that I would like to see Barkley more than we have. However, I think that starting him may be a bit soon and tbh we as fans don't really know whether or not he is ready, so to say that this was "criminal" is a bit harsh. Also i was surprised at the subsitution of bringing Cahill off instead of the Straq, so i don't feel that this was predictable. 4-4-2 did not at all work yesterday with the combination of a tired Straq and Jelavic who is finding his feet and fitness. Yes it was a dissapointing performance but i think it's the players and not just Moyes who should be blamed.

Much like Moyes, a few great years don't hide from the fact that we're now 13th and we've won feck all in 10 years.

Is right. I can understand us going through a moody transition stage or a couple of dull seasons but it's been too long.

What's our name?

I'm dreading the 15th of March tenth anniversary of Moyes taking over. He's done more things right than wrong in his time here - it's fair to say that - but I'll be cringeing listening to the nonsense getting trotted out about how we've been transformed and are lucky to have him blah blah blah.

For me, I expect what Moyes does as minimum as Everton manager: get them working 100% all of the time. That's no easy feat in this day and age, but basically that (and making a few early bargain-basement top-notch signings) is the sum total of his input. I really think we could and should have got a cup in the ten years he's been here. I know it's difficult, but others have done it outside the now traditional pot gatherers. And that's what it's all about at the end of the day. People can quote 4th/5th/6th place finishes at me all day long and talk about being best of the rest - it makes no impression whatsoever. It is what it is - a decade without winning anything under his charge. And it really infuriates me to hear him implying from time to time that failure was all that Everton knew before he arrived.

He's stopped the rot and had us playing some decent stuff. The European thing was nice and for a while it looked like we'd be making real progress. It's stalled though and it's been 17 years since we've won a trophy. Too long for us.

In an ideal world we'll get some half arsed [Poor language removed] in who can at least give him some funds for players. Once he's got that then there's no excuses about us not going through the "glass ceiling" everyone talks about.

I hate that we've become conditioned into being a mid table side. We're much better than that.

I can't argue with this
