Former Everton Centre Forward Duncan Ferguson steps into management.....

I honestly think if we win our remaining 15 league games we might have a chance of getting a further 45 points ( win = 3 points x 15 games of 90 minutes football/+ added on time for subs/time wasting = 15 victories = 45 points)

Now as you know, I've been known as a bit of a Carol Vorderman and if we add those 45 points to the 60 points we already have that deffo makes more than 100 points and that surely would us as world champions once again!

You've always been good with numbers guv. Even though you got time in the slammer for tax fraud I could tell the judge admired how creative you were with the numbers.

Fylde’s John Nash!

In particular the way he came to visit me in the slammer so I'd do his books as well. He must have got the idea from the Shawahank redemption film and I can tell ya now it ain't like that at all! You get a free xbox, WiFi, mobile phone, clean clothes, 3 meals a day, snacks, laundrette, tuck shop, pool table, laptop and balloons for ya birthday. Not sure where Shawshank got the idea that prison was a horrible place to be... Oh well!

That's why they call it the Fylde Hilton.

Cracking game with Luton. Liquid football.

The winners of this tie will face a glamorous trip to the Emirates to take on Premier League Arsenal. The Fylde chairman has said he would love nothing more than to see his team playing against a top elite team. The Fylde fans were in fine voice as the teams came out of the tunnel. Reading had Fylde pinned back early on and The Coasters struggled to get out of their own half. Fylde managed to get onto the ball after 6 minutes and worked it out wide to Bytheway, he sent in the cross to the back post for Henderson who headed into the net! 1-0! Henderson sends the home fans into pandemonium! He has redeemed himself for giving away the penalty in the last game. Downes had a great chance for Reading on 36 minutes to level the score but Foster pulled off a fantastic save to deny him. Fylde were dealing well with the attacking threat of Reading but needed a second goal to give themselves some breathing room. Reading were finding it frustrating to break Fylde down in the second half and Downes was replaced by McKue. Ferguson took off Dootson and brought on Ryan Scott to help defend in the final 25 minutes. The clock was ticking down and with minutes left, Fylde just had to keep possession. Bexfield got it wide to Warrell, he crossed low into the box for Sean Doran who slotted past Foster! 1-1! Another late equaliser conceded for Fylde! The board went up for four minutes, Barron took the throw on the edge of the Fylde box and got the return, he crossed into the box and Mark McKue was there to bury it into the top corner! Reading have turned it round in the last few minutes! What a disappointing end to the match for The Coasters. They came so close but Reading were too much for them in the final minutes.

DF: Things turn around quick in football and credit to Reading they battled hard and had that extra bit of energy to get the result. I'm proud of how my lads played and we can look back and learn from this. We matched a team in a higher division with quality players over two games.

Not saying owt, but in footballing circles they're known as PEDing. Did you spot that German physio with bad teeth and a beard giving them a "boost" with ten minutes to go? Looked suspiciously like that guy who got chased out of football back in 2021 after his speziale brau was revealed and he went on a rampage against local rival ball boys.

AFC Fylde vs Charlton Athletic
3rd February 2029

=Charlton result.webp

After the cup heartbreak for Fylde it was back to league action to concentrate on their unbelievable bid for a third consecutive promotion. If any manager can give these players a lift, it is Duncan Ferguson. Akeem Harris was on the right for Charlton and Ferguson had been showing an interest in the right winger for some time but had been put off by Charlton's £4m valuation. Harris was looking to carve open the Fylde back line but they held firm in the opening 30 minutes. Harris went past Ryan Scott like he wasn't there but the midfielder tracked back and dispossessed him nicely. Nathan Smith got the loose ball out wide to Henderson and the home fans encouraged them forward. Henderson had space to operate in and got it out to Bytheway on the right. He crossed for O'Neill who headed in off the post! But he's offside! Great build up play from The Coasters. Neil Foster staked his claim as the league's best keeper with a close range stop from Joseph to keep the score at 0-0. Dootson had a quiet first half but almost got an assist in the second when he found Henderson on the edge of the box but the winger's shot was pushed away by the keeper. Josh Ferguson entered the fray with 25 minutes left. Time was running out and can either side nick a winner? Both teams were defending brilliantly denying each other at both ends. It was hard to separate both teams as they ground out a draw.

DF: It was a fair result and we both cancelled each other out. Our attacking intent was good, we just need to be a bit more ruthless. We are a hard team to beat and our defensive work has paid off, it's important that we get that goal to win us games. We are unbeaten in thirteen league games and want to continue that trend.

Birmingham City vs AFC Fylde
10th February 2029

=Birmingham result.webp

The last time Fylde played at St. Andrews they were beaten in the League Cup first round but have since established themselves as contenders for promotion. Fylde worked it down the right after 8 minutes, Bytheway took it forward but was dispossessed, Morton picked up the loose ball and played it back to Bytheway who found Dootson on the edge of the box in space, he took a touch on his left and drilled the ball low into the back of the net! What a strike! His first goal in a Fylde shirt! Fylde were playing brilliant attacking football and putting Birmingham to the sword, Bytheway crossed into the box and O'Neill volleyed in his 18th of the season! They look unstoppable today! Fylde were defending brilliant as a team, they all look like are on the same page as each other. A few minutes later, Parry went through the Fylde centre and Wisdom came from behind and put in a horrendous tackle, he was shown a straight red card! Fylde left at a disadvantage. Five minutes before half-time and Parry got it forward to Hamshaw who slotted past Foster to give Birmingham a foothold in the match. The second half may feel like a lifetime here for Fylde and hopefully Ryan Scott can support McGavin in the middle. Birmingham came forward relentlessy pushing for the equaliser, Feeney and Foster were playing well and putting a halt to Birmingham. The ball was sent down the pitch for Hamshaw to chase into the box but Morton pulled him down and the referee gave the penalty! He didn't have to touch him! Hamshaw took the kick and Foster saved! What a stop! Fylde saved by their in form goalkeeper! Birmingham kept coming forward and almost levelled when Sbarra rattled the crossbar. The referee levelled the teams when McGavin was fouled with 20 minutes to go by Dixon who received his second yellow card! Weatherby took hold of the ball in goal and pumped it down field, the Fylde players were out of position, Hamshaw took a touch and buried it past Foster, 2-2! Fylde had lost their head and Harrop was there to tap the loose ball in from the corner kick, Birmingham lead 3-2. Two goals in three minutes! With five minutes to go Birmingham were playing with confidence and Fylde looked defeated. What a collapse for The coasters. They just didn't look interested.

DF: The sending off changed the game and we lost our shape, Birmingham grew as the match went on and they deserved all three points, no argument. The loss sees us fall behind the top two by three points and this could be costly come the end of the season.
