7th April 2029

Three games to go and it's very tight in the top 7 of League One. Fylde need to find that consistency that has seen them over-perform all season in League One defying all critics. The Morecambe keeper pumped the ball forward on 4 minutes and Feeney met the ball with a powering header, Dootson received the pass and played in Bytheway on the right who struck against the post, he should have buried it. Fylde were getting in behind but the Morecambe keeper was keeping everything out. Morton crossed into the box and found the head of O'Neill on 31 minutes but the striker clipped the top of the bar. They are pushing but it's just not coming. The board goes up for one minute added time, Wisdom tackles brilliantly inide his own half and launches it down the left to O'Neill who pauses and waits for support, he finds Dootson inside and he takes it past one and belts it into the top corner! What a time to score! Fylde held on throughout the second half and Ferguson tightened up with a three man midfield. The defensive work was excellent and Morecambe were being limited but Fylde were playing with danger. Three minutes were added on and Fyle just had to keep the ball. With a minute to go Bytheway was tactical winning his team a free-kick in the Morecambe half. Fylde managed to keep hold of the ball and record a good win. Three games to go.

DF: We wasn't great but happy we scored. I could feel the tension around the ground and if we never scored when we did it would have made the second half more difficult.

ONE GAME AWAY

AFC Fylde are on the verge of making history yet again as a win against Bristol Rovers could see them gain promotion to The Championship and other results go their way. "We can only do our part, we have no control over what happens elsewhere. To be in this position at this stage of the season is fantastic but we are not there yet and our performance levels have to pick up. We were fortunate to beat Bury and made hard work of getting the result against Morecambe. We will go down to Bristol with the desire to come away with all three points" stated Ferguson on Sky Sports this morning.

Never been calmer. We got this
Nerves of steel!

That injury time goal from Rochdale - hope that doesn't come back to haunt us. We've thrown a few daft points away.

If we can get the win at Bristol, I think we're up no matter what though as I can't see Chesterfield and Coventry getting the results to catch us then.

UTFC!

Vince Bytheway was struck down earlier in the week with food poisoning and missed some training schedules. For Fylde to gain promotion they need Chesterfield and Coventry to lose or draw but it still not might be official if Wimbledon and Portsmouth win due to goal difference. Fylde have to win regardless to have any chance of promotion against Bristol Rovers.
