Sam Allaway was back to lead the line against struggling Oxford after recovering from a recent groin injury. It didn't take long for the first goal and it went the way of the home side, Johnson was played through one on one by Ferguson and the winger coolly finished. Not long after Wisdom found Henderson cutting in on his right, he took a touch and finished into the bottom corner, Fylde doubled their lead early in the first half! Oxford had a chance to claw one back close to the interval when Price received the ball in the area and hit a low shot which Foster saved comfortably. Henderson almost made it three when he volleyed Johnson's cross against the bar, the keeper got a tip to it to help it on. Mick Wisdom was having a great game, breaking up play and creating chances for his team, he was present on the edge of the box searching for a goal himself. Brad Price was looking to get on the scoresheet for Oxford and it looked like his shot was goal bound but Foster tipped over the bar. Eight minutes to go and Al-Hamdi got on the end of Pickering's cross and pulled one back for Oxford. Fylde put themselves in an awkward situation in the remaining minutes. Oxford were looking for one last attack and pumped the ball into the box but Foster rushed off his line and took the ball to ground to cheers from the home fans. Another win for The Coasters!

DF: I'm pleased how we started and really wanted the third to finish the game off. I'm not considering promotion at all, I am taking it one game at a time and anything can still happen, promotion is something the lads won't be thinking about this side of christmas.

A mid-week trip to Cheltenham for Fylde as they looked to stretch their lead at the top of the table. Mel Pope started in midfield after returning from international duty with England U20's, he had a pop at goal in the first few minutes and the ball slid wide in the heavy rain. Fylde were trying their luck from range hoping the weather would help but the shots were off target. Josh Ferguson rolled it into the path of Mel Pope on 17 minutes who unleashed a venomous shot into the top corner to put Fylde in front! His first of the season! Mick Wisdom struck the post on 27 minutes from 20 yards out, the midfielder always looks dangerous from these positions. Wisdom and Pope were controlling the game, Pope played in Allaway whose shot was tipped round the post. Lewis White was in good scoring form for Cheltenham and broke free of the defence but Foster turned his shot behind for a corner. Cheltenham sprung an attack on the start of the second half but Morton cleared to Pope who found Ferguson, he sprayed the ball long for Henderson who brought it down nicely, cut inside the box turning the defender and slotting at a tight angle to make it 2-0. What a finish! Henderson getting his ninth of the season. Callum Simpson replaced Sam Allaway on 62 minutes who had a quiet day in front of goal. Fylde fell asleep momentarily when Spence crossed into the box for Dowse to grab a goal back for Cheltenham with twenty minutes to play. Fylde hit back a minute later, Henderson chipping the ball over the defence, Johnson came in from behind and slotted into the bottom corner! He timed his run to perfection. Tyrone O'Neill came on for Ferguson and he teed up Johnson to get his second of the match! Fylde well in control and put the game to bed with three minutes to go.

DF: I'm delighted with that tonight, after they pulled a goal back I thought we were going to throw our hard work away but the character and determination we showed in the second half was brilliant. I can't ask for any more from these players, they are really playing well and the mood around the place is great.
