I'm struggling a bit with this thread.

Are there people who don't want to win the league cup then? He's put out a pretty strong team every round so far he won't stop now I wouldn't think.

I am confused. And not for the first time!

People think that Liverpool fans will laugh at us. Most put their entire existence on comparing us to them, however ridiculous or pointless that is

This. We're one of the few big clubs (and the only really big club - hi WHU fans x) to never win it.

Plus, I like it when people show their age and call it the Milk Cup, or people show they're utterly insane and call it the Rumbelows Cup. Or I slip up and call it the Coca-Cola Cup. Or when some stupid six year-old calls it the Capital One Cup.

I like calling it the Worthingtons Cup.

A couple of years ago the idea of Baines and Mirallas not forming part of our strongest side would have been unthinkable. Probably mainly due to lack of match fitness on both counts but still looks like a clear sign of progrees in the squad strengthening department.

I have this problem with other American followers of English footie.

Arsenal and the two Manchester clubs look top 3 material, After that's it a lottery between Us, Spurs, Pool and I wouldn't discount Chelsea or indeed Leicester who have been a breath of fresh air so far.

The league cup is really a trophy that we should be looking to win giving the club has never won it before, tad embarrassing that.
