Do we want to win this? Hard question. Martinez put your best team out for this

I vaguely remember Naisy having a fairly big impact on one of our games earlier this season but can't recall which.

His 1 good game in 15 doesn't make up for his gashness tbh. It's no coincidence we've been playing scintillating football recently without him breaking down every one of our attacks

If we can grab momentum with the next 6-7 games running up to the end of the year and continue with performances and results like the ones against Sunderland and Villa then we could be sitting in the top 4 by January, then it's down to Martinez to add to that momentum by bringing in a player or two who will give the players real belief we can do it this season, we've been in that situation too many times before and done nothing and then tailed off at the end of the season to miss out, we really need to grab it and be proactive this January

In that respect yes we are.

I'm not saying in any way i wouldn't be happy winning the trophy, be great to win something and yes its a european trip for us. But at the same time i just feel Dave Watson's trophy lift compared to Jag's won't have the same achievement to it when we look back (not from a winning something way, obviously we will have finally won the damn thing lol)

Don't kid yourself about this. I remember Rats lifting the cup in 1984 and the euphoria lasted my entire teenage years. What was it 13 years since we'd last won anything and now its already 20 years. There's a whole generation who've never seen an Everton captain lift a cup, any cup.

could bring in besic, mirrallas, baines and robles and still be very strong

it just if we bring in the dross(naismithies, mcgeadies) or dont play lukaku, that we will struggle

Lukaku's the hard part. He just can't play in every match this season or he'll just be a shell of himself by March, so he should really be rested against either Bournesmouth or Middlesbrough. Big question who should play instead of him, and in which match.

Bournemouth. Kone up top, Kev out left. If it's not working later on bring Rom on.

Much rather us draw against Bournemouth from not starting Lukaku then need to bring him on in a cup tie when we might be chasing a game. Right now LC quarter-final > one PL game.

Board got to back him, its been a joke in the past the positions we've been in. Then again, they are a joke

Ye, that would seem to be the option if we are going to rest him.

2014–15 40 7

However, that's Drogba's record at Chelsea. I think we should be expecting Rom to play 40+ games a year now.

Totally agree about the board mate, supposedly we had 15m down on the table for Yarmolenko, and didn't spend it, let's see if we actually do or if it just evaporates again, sell Naismith add that to what we already bid and your talking 22-23 million to target a couple of players in January, not hopeful given the record in January of this board mind
