Looks really nice. Personally I have a thing about a slice of cauliflower being referred to as a steak thoughJust made these roasted cauliflower steaks, coated in garlic olive oil with dried rosemary, thyme and parsley, then finished with Parmesan.View attachment 231845
Chicken feet?Fetched a few packs of these back from the Chinese supermarket when we visited BMD yesterday.
Steaming beautifully as i type. Just begrudge being called a philistine every time she walks in to the kitchen![]()
Can you actually eat them, I thought they were basically just chewy / grisly and most of it gets spat out and binned?Yes mate they are![]()

Out of interest is there anything worth eating on a chicken foot? Cant imagine there is much meatWhen steamed they fall off the bones and have a truly great taste. Very gelatinous. Just not wife friendly when you're hocking the bones outCan you actually eat them, I thought they were basically just chewy / grisly and most of it gets spat out and binned?
I thought the same mate until i reluctantly tried a small portion in a Chinese in China town. It has now become a firm favourite to have once in a while. They need a proper good steam and the meat and skin falls off the boneNot for meOut of interest is there anything worth eating on a chicken foot? Cant imagine there is much meat
I’ve had chicken feet soup before complete with chickens feet in it which was the most chicken flavoured soup I’ve ever had. When steamed they fall off the bones and have a truly great taste. Very gelatinous. Just not wife friendly when you're hocking the bones out![]()
Just like the soup you had which sounds great, these just have an intense flavour and really are great. I'd love you to try oneI’ve had chicken feet soup before complete with chickens feet in it which was the most chicken flavoured soup I’ve ever had.
Had it in Borneo and the guide only told everyone it was made from chicken feet after it was served up (and started) …. The kip on ½ the people was a sight to behold.
Don’t think I could stomach the gelatinous nature of gnawing on the feet themselves though!
