Breaking news! The Blue Union, EvertonBoardOUT & SOS1878 have issued the following statement:

We would like to apologise to all true Evertonians for the plane banner stunt. We all feel really stupid, now that a 3-0 away win against Southampton has made up for the 3 failed stadium moves, £3m net spend over the last 10 years, lowest transfer spend in the Premier League this summer, a disastrous commercial department generating low revenues, and an abysmal 3 man board that puts no money into the club.

We're all very sorry, and agree with footballing legend Danny Mills' comments that we should all be proud and grateful if we finish 8th or 9th this season. That is our level, that is where we belong. Enough of this Kopite, 'wanting to improve the club' behaviour. We now know our place and we're all so very sorry. xx

:coffee:

You mention Danny Mills, it's not only him. Ray Stubbs on Talksport earlier saying virtually the same things with a few carefully selected callers ( one from Cornwall ffs) all being pro Kenwright. The facts surrounding the Kenwright tenure needs to be properly presented to the media to stop the unbalanced view that the media seem to have of Kenwright and co as the Patron Saints of Everton.

I didn't agree with the idea before the game and I don't agree with it now.
In my opinon it served no purpose . The media seem to think it was a protest against the lack of spending in transfers this summer...is that what it was about or was it something bigger ?

What is the alternative to Bill Kenwright ?
When a viable alternative is proposed then the media and football in general will take notice ?
Let's see the level of unhappiness with Bill Kenwright and the board next Sunday, that is the acid test.

An alternative to Bill Kenwright is someone else.
A viable buyer won't appear in the media because of confidentiality clauses.
However... it is well known that Kenwright wants £200m for the club, a figure no-one is willing to match. He needs to lower the price. He won't because he loves being the chairman too much, even though he's failing to supply the manager with the tools to do his job properly.

Don't expect Kenwright Out chants at the match next Sunday. It's not really the 'acid test'.

Another plane will be flown over the ground next Sunday. Hopefully the banner will make it clear what the issues are and that it's about 16 years of failure, not one quiet summer of transfers.

It's received significant media attention in the last 48 hours in the print, tv and radio media. It more than achieved its' aim, which is why a second plane will be flown above Goodison next Sunday before the City game.

As of right now, £778 of the £1000 needed has been raised by 34 people in just 3 hours.

If only the current board were this good at raising funds this quickly.

But most of the media attention was negative?

One problem with a banner is most people who see it won't understand why we are unhappy with the board, its open to interpratation. Another problem is what you see is a one line sweeping statement with no explanation or debate. Collymores show did more to get people talking about the problems at Everton, questions can be answered on that type of platform.

Another issue there seems to be a lot of support coming out now for Kenwright, i didnt hear anywhere near as much of that after Collymore than we are doing now, with a banner you run the risk of dividing fans who might have been on yourside but who dont agree with your actions.

One worry the fans should have is the more stunts we (Evertonians) pull the harder its going to be have communication with the club, year by year that is becoming more and more difficult.

The next banners should have a specific issue as to why we want Kenwright and the board out, i.e.

'3 FAILED STADIUM MOVES - KENWRIGHT OUT'
'£3M NET TRANSFER SPEND OVER LAST 10 YEARS - KENWRIGHT OUT'
'WHAT DOES ROBERT EARL DO? - KENWRIGHT OUT'

Etc. Hammer home to people exactly what the issues are and make it clear it has nothing to do with the manager or the players.

Either of the bold text would be suitable. I'd like the next banner to express that the fans' grievances are more than just the lack of spending in the transfer market. The board's failure in commercial dealings and failed ground moves are pertinent issues as well.

The situation is too far gone to have any communication with the club anyway.

The Collymore show was good, but that was just one radio show. The Echo didn't even mention it until a throwaway line in Ian Doyle's column over the weekend.

I wouldn't say coverage of the plane stunt was negative, but most of it was bemusement. However, it was a start, did expose that not everyone loves Bill, and that lots of fans want change.

I wrote my ideas earlier today that the next plane banners should focus on a specific issues and not just 'Kenwright Out'.

The media needs to start delving deeper into why the fans are unhappy and not simply think it's down to summer transfer inactivity.

Which is why there needs to be proper engagement with the media to present the facts and move them away from the Rose tinted view they seem to have of Kenwright and the board.

The biggest mistake that could be made now is for this to abruptly stop. Doubly so if we start winning games.

The protests are not and will never be about the manager or the players or the teams current form. The target are the board and the board alone.

The bigger issue is the 16 years of mismanagement off the pitch. Again, this is what needs to be hammered home to the media.

I think that happened last time wasn't it mate where they backed off the protests/marches because they felt fans wouldn't be too happy as we were in a bit of form.

Like you mention, it's not about the team, they will always be backed as long as they out a shift in and the same goes for the manager.

What shouldn't be tolerated is a board that is clueless in everything it does, doesn't invest, doesn't have a plan a let alone a plan b, has failed in pretty much everything possible and continues to do so day in, day out out, year in, year out.

Obviously cant ring the red arrows up but maybe the septics will lend us the blue angels for an afternoon?

Love the fact it's kopite behaviour when I believe we were the first team to do when KEIOC flew one over goodison in relation to Destination Kirkby.

If we did a march it'd be kopite behaviour then aswell I suppose? Well there last March got them FSG!!! Look where they are now, financially safe, global markets utilised, anfield finally getting upgraded.

It's not about transfers it's about theses "businessmen" not being as to run a business. Look at our deals for shirt sponsorship with Chang, shocking compared to smaller than us. Look at our last 2 kit deals, we didn't get a penny from Nike, we gave them 2 years free advertising. Now with umbro we got less than hull who are also with umbro.

This is down to the board not knowing of believing how big this club is and what we should be demanding in terms of financial input into it.

These groups can do they what they want as long as they get the message across. Did you know Everton officials ordered Southampton stewards to remove any banners from supporters before they got into the stadium. They know we're not happy.

I don't have any grand ideas but I'll be heading down to the next meeting when I'm available and showing my support.

Speaking of support, i will always love the boys in blue but the people behind the scenes are why the unrest is starting to gather pace.
