The difficulty in the black market mate. There are millions who want to watch Pl domestically and in Ireland, who can’t go to the game - who can’t watch a game live at 3.00pm on Sat. The only way to do is illegally through alledgedly through streaming.
So what you have is millions with allegedly illegal streaming services, providing a service legit TV broadcasters can’t. Thus they are loosing billions in revenue.
How do the TV companies combat this, they minimise the amount of games at 3.00 pm Sat and create new slots that they can legally show games.
Thats the problem with the blackout and why it won’t last. Billions are at stake in rights in a huge national industry, while as this thread shows there is already a lobby if the fans.
It will give, in the not to distant future. The future will be no U.K. blackouts.
