Fixture changes- How to make a point.

The club will be absolutely made up it's happening so often I think. I'm sure I read somewhere that the Friedkins had remarked internally that they were concerned with the amount of times we had been picked for TV in recent years.

New stadium was always going to be a draw for broadcasters this season, as was attracting some better players, and then there's the sheer number of teams in Europe meaning we're among the better ones available for Monday nights.

Can't see the club backing any effort to stop this, but it would be good if Sky could limit each team to 1 home Monday night game and/or 1 away Monday night game a season.

There's no point IMO - clubs are now totally reliant on TV money.
The ONLY way to make them listen is to not buy tickets and by doing this it will likely drive them further into the arms of tv.

You could also argue that any of us watching televised football are also part of the problem- cancel your subscriptions !

Even if local fans switch off and/or don't turn up there's too many elsewhere now funding the TV model.

Give non league a go is my advice.
I would hope no-one on here is currently paying for sky.

Two things are driving me away from watching Everton live games. Firstly is the regular changes to match days and ko times, and the second was inevitable anyway, increasing old age. This season is almost certainly my last. I've had 75 years enjoyment for which I am grateful.
Ageing is inevitable unfortunately for us all however the PL/TV combo is well along the road to killing the goose that laid the golden egg.

Me too, really don’t think it is worth it anymore, probably a lot to do with personal circumstances for me but the irrational kick off times are finishing me,I could have got to a lot more games this season than the three, four if I include the derby at the pit, than I have if they had been at more sensible times,I never used to miss a game and also up to last season would get to a number of away games, but maybe this is the straw to break the camels back as my enthusiasm is waning, the bigger picture I guess is I give up my season tickets, they’ll certainly be taken up,so I don’t see this being resolved for the fans anytime soon👍

Im going to be a one season only as a ST holder at Bramley Moore. Missing too many of the rearranged games. Next season I’ll be in with everyone else on Forever Blue and picking games out on the resale, which there appears to be plenty. Ahh well.
If many do the same, as seems like they will, might be harder to get in the ballot

Not gonna lie, finding the whole match day travel to and from too much (travel from out of town) - an hour added on each way compared with a game at Goodison, so an 8pm kick off on a Monday night. It’s too much hassle. Not even walked around the stadium yet.

mate you know what i’ve not! 😂
only seen my stone and i go in the west stand - not been round the ground!

Sunderland is on the Sunday.
I hadn't even noticed that. So I reckon the Chelsea match will move to Sunday, the RS derby will be 12.30 on the Saturday.
So we almost certainly have no more Saturday 3pm home games this season. In fact, after Brentford on the 4th of Jan, the only weekend games possible are Chelsea, RS, and Sunderland. The rest of our home games are Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday.

I'm sure this is great for the armchair fan - though who in their right minds would want to spend Saturday night watching Burnley v Fulham or something - but it's utterly killed the game for so many match-going fans.

I'm in two minds about renewing for next season. I mean, if I can offload the games I don't go to, preferably to mates, then it might just about be worth it for the half a dozen games a year I'll probably be able to make (can't do midweek games since I don't live in Liverpool anymore, and Sundays are out at the moment because of engineering on the London - Liverpool train line).

Depressing really, we've got a lovely new stadium and they're sucking the joy out of the experience.
