Fit players for the derby

According to PhysioRoom:

Pienaar and Deulofeu should be fit for Tuesday. Coleman won't be ready until Saturday and there is still no return date for Barkley.

If that's the case, we'll probably end up with something like:

________________Howard
Hibbert/Stones Jagielka Distin Baines
_____________McCarthy Barry
___Mirallas Osman Pienaar/McGeady
________________Lukaku

our squad at full strength is vastly superior to RS'. Better than uniteds overall, even if they're strikeforce is powerful. spurs aren't really a team, but look very good on paper.

we're still in it with 5 games to go - we have every chance.

Jesus wept, that's it then Champs league minimum with such a superior manager & squad.

Physio Room only goes off information they have correlated from sources and therefore they can't take into account players which may be fit but haven't been reported as so.

All conjecture

Agreed but generally they seem to be very accurate.

I can't see anyway Ged will be fit, he'd need to be back a few days at least to even be considered, surely. I'm also praying Barkley's back so I don't want to believe physioroom.

Those referring to Barkley's 'broken toe' as a reason he'll be unable to play, there have been plenty of examples of players who have either played through a fracture or come back early from one as a result of pain relieving injections. Nolan had it for West Ham last season, Jags did it last year, and Lampard did it not so long ago too.

It's entirely possible that Martinez has been resting Barkley in preparation for such an injection on Tuesday, he may believe the small risk of setting back Ross' recovery is worth it, as despite what he says to the media he must realise that this game is pivotal in our pursuit of Champions League football.

Let´s hope so.

Absolutely massive this match, we should pull all the stops to have as strong a team as possible. I don´t care if Barkleys recovery is delayed a week by playing, still want him to play. They have no defensive midfielder and their defense is a shambles, imagine the psychological effect of Barkley starting just behind Lukaku.

If barkley and coleman need injections, we have to give them it. It would make them unavailable for villa but it has to be done. Traore has a visa starting monday apparently and is having a fitness test/hamstring check tomorrow from what ive heard

If we have other CH's available so Stones can play RB then I dont mind missing Coleman all that much, if Hibberts the only option I'd be more inclined to risk Coleman, with you on Barkley though, desperate for him to play

I would be fine with stones at rb, but coleman is the most attacking full back in the prem, and he is our second top goalscorer so i say play him regardless
