Alcaraz
Coleman Jagielka Distin Oviedo
Deulofeu Barkley Gibson Pienaar
Kone Traore

Injured XI. Yes, Alcaraz would be a boss goalie.

Hope at least three of the above can make it back for Tuesday night. COYB.

I was just thinking the same thing. Except I may put jags in goal. I remember him finishing a game in goal for Sheffield united years ago, even made a couple saves. But a good full team is out injured for our thin squad. Hopes we rally around Bryan and manage to be up for the game.

our squad at full strength is vastly superior to RS'. Better than uniteds overall, even if they're strikeforce is powerful. spurs aren't really a team, but look very good on paper.

we're still in it with 5 games to go - we have every chance.

As for the RS, I´d say Suarez is better than anything we´ve got but we´re superior in almost every other position. Let´s make a comparison:

Howard - Mignolet --> Howard, more experience, doesn´t flap at high balls.

Coleman - Johnson --> Coleman obviously, no question even though Johnson isn´t bad there´s simply no one who can get close to Seamus right now.

Jagielka - Agger --> Jagielka is simply superior

Distin - Skertl --> Pretty similar probably, quality players but neither are top class.

Baines - whoever --> Don´t even know who plays left back for Liverpool and I think that says it all. Don´t they usually play a centre half there?

Gerrard - McCarthy --> Gerrard is still good but his legs have gone now and McCarthy is non-stop energy. Fans of lfc obviously will disagree but I´d never exchange them.

Barry - Lucas --> Barry superior

Pienaar - Sterling --> Pretty equal. Sterling is a diving [Poor language removed] tho, dislike him just for that.

Barkley - Couthino --> I reckon lfc fans would fancy that exchange.

Mirallas - Sturridge --> Draw. Both are quality.

Lukaku - Suarez --> Suarez will score you more goals than Lukaku obviously.

Agree with most of that but i think you're way out with Mirallas/Sturridge?

Sturridge has scored 25 goals in 33 games for liverpool, Mirallas blows hot and cold.

That one isn't even close.

I don't think they should have been compared anyway. Different roles totally. He should have been compared more with sterling.
Seeing as Liverpool sometimes play with 2 strikers then the comparisons become unbalanced

A fully fit agger is top class as well, with his injury record I'd probably rather have jags, but fully fit Aggers a player. I'd say countinho isn't fit to lace Barkley's boots though

Mirallas should probably be compared to Henderson who is a starter for them when fit. Don´t really know how good Henderson is, can´t remember a single thing he´s ever done that´s impressed me in all the times I´ve seen him play. I reckon Mirallas edges that one to be honest.

he runs around like a headless chicken.

Those referring to Barkley's 'broken toe' as a reason he'll be unable to play, there have been plenty of examples of players who have either played through a fracture or come back early from one as a result of pain relieving injections. Nolan had it for West Ham last season, Jags did it last year, and Lampard did it not so long ago too.

It's entirely possible that Martinez has been resting Barkley in preparation for such an injection on Tuesday, he may believe the small risk of setting back Ross' recovery is worth it, as despite what he says to the media he must realise that this game is pivotal in our pursuit of Champions League football.

he's terrible, but if he has a couple of okay games, the rs media will tell you how he has come on leaps and bounds
