Of course £5-10m increase in revenue is a lot, but on the wider football spectrum it's a drop in the ocean. To actually redesign Goodison so it incorporates these type of facilities would likely mean the cost would so prohibitive that it would take years before we see any sort of gain on the balance sheets.

I also don't understand your theory of how a new stadium can eventually lead to £20m shirt sponsors, are you telling me if we'd moved to Kirby our lastest shirt deal we've just signed would have been worth nearly 3 times more than the one we've just got off Chang?


No, you're taking things too literally. You need to be slightly less serious and lighten up. Arsenal are the example I was using when talking about sponsorship. They were getting what, £6m a year? All of a sudden, this year, it rocketed to £20m. Why? Building on the foundations from stable and promising advertising opportunities.

Yeh mate Arsenals commercial deals are down to success prior to building the new place (which also funded the stadium) and being ever present CL contenders as I said earlier nobody has been revitalised building a new place first - nobody.
