I genuinely think even if we finished top 4 it'd still be sell-to-buy.

Unlikely. It COULD be worth an extra 15 to 40 million depending how far you get.

That is on top of what we already earn.

Wages go up too though.

It would be nice. Wouldn't be sell to buy but you need to be in every year to really push us.

Hi! New to the forum but anyway: According to transferleague.co.uk we have made a profit of 31,3 million pounds in the transfer market since the 09-10 season. With the new BPL tv deal, I would think our financial status is quite good (but not that good that we could spend 70+ million on Lukaku and Deulofeu :D). Also taking into account the possible sales of Baines and Barkley (hopefully somewhere in the far away future. Unless we make it to the Champions league in this or the following season, then they will spend their whole careers in Everton...) They future seems bright.

But we have to remember the new stadium question. New home stadium is a must. Home game attendance is always in the region of 36k-37k. At the moment Everton is losing money, because the stadium capacity is clearly too small. Gate and matchday income is at the moment in the region 17m pounds and with bigger stadium capacity it would be WAY higher. Also Goodison Park (feels bad to write this about Goodison. I love the place!) is and has been the reason why potential club buyers have decided not to buy Everton. They know that as soon as they buy Everton they will have to build a new stadium. As a Evertonian I would love a new home ground, but I'm also affraid that if we move we lose our home fortress!

In conclusion: Everton has the potential to rise to the next level and become a giant, but there are so many question that needs to be answered before that. It all depends how the team performes in the following seasons. And that is great news! It's not about the owners, the sponsors or the investors. It's about the players and the manager.

It's about football!

It's all well and good saying "we made a profit on transfers," but there really is no such thing. Say for example we made a 'profit' of £15 million on transfers, but before transfers are factored in, the club has made overall losses of £20 million, then with the transfers factored in, we have made a loss of £5 million. *hypothetical*

Do we have a transfer budget, the short answer is we do not know, that aspect of our finances is a closely guarded secret that even MI6 would be proud of. One can never tell because it is always in current terms. It is no use really looking at accounts because they reflect the finances of more than a year ago so hardly relevant to now.

It can give us an idea though, hopefully the next set of accounts should show some improvement in revenue with the commercial deals done with Stubhub and Dafabet and the others done recently. But, we shall wait and see but as a business we have been posting a loss for the past few years.

You're right. I didn't mean that we have 31,3m in bank to use. I ment that transfers have made money for us. And that money has made it possible to pay off debts, invest in facilities and other things. Like in your situation the overall loss would have 20m, but with transfer profit it was only 5m. So because of the 31,3m from transfers I believe we are in a fairly stable situation financially.
