I've never really got involved with the Everton finances as I've always focused on the match and the team but I've got to thinking about our finances. Do we have an available transfer budget to strengthen in January? The money made on Fellaini and Anichebe, where does that go? How much is made available to buy players? Is our wage bill relatively low?

We all want champions league and I know there is money in it but how much are we talking? Will it be enough to attract top players and improve the clubs finances?

I think Roberto has hinted at funds being available in Jan (without selling). Obviously not loads but I reckon there's a decent pot, complete guess? maybe 8/9mill-ish

Im sure some will buy the club give us a load of money and then build us a stadium that the council will love, oh wait sorry thats my letter to santa

No one outside the club really knows.

Half the felli money went on McCarthy. The three loans allegedly cost £10m for the season. Anichebe money went on Kone. Maybe we have to shift heitinga or jelavic before buying.

Oh dear ! An open invite for the resident Bill bashers to discuss our negative spend and eventual demise into non league football.

I've got used to thinking we get to spend roughly half to two-thirds of what we make on transfer sales.

A good chunk of the money disappears - be it in wages, servicing the debt or 'other operating costs.'

After the profits we made in the summer, anything less than £10m available for january would be a massive disappointment.

£13m on McCarthy
£6m on Kone
£2m on Robles
£3m for Lukaku
£3m or so for Martinez plus staff

It all adds up.

Add in premier league levies and agent fees and it will all be gone.

That's more or less where I think we're at too. I guess we've £5m to £8m in the pot BUT we haven't borrowed in advance of the increased Sky money, whereas the likes of Norwich have. Maybe that could be a factor in January?

With Stones and Alcaraz on the books we can dispense with Heitinga's services.... but Jelavic is unlikely to leave unless an absurdly high bid comes in. Martinez has stated that he wants Velios to go out on loan ( http://www.liverpoolecho.co.uk/spor...berto-martinez-says-apostolos-vellios-6298620 ) and Kone is done for the season, so selling Jelavic would leave us with no senior cover for Lukaku.
