Frankly I'm more offended by the 'I'm more respectful' competition evidenced by jewel encrusted poppy badges.bottom line is that it is not disrespectful not to wear one and neither should it be forced on anyone.

If they had white Poppy Day to condemn militarism then there'd be a massive outcry in the blood thirsty media owned by Hawks who prompted wars for their own ends.I agree with @davek that club sides (and more specifically, the players) shouldn't be forced to wear poppies; like anything you choose to acknowledge/ pay respect to, it should be a personal thing, rather than something forced upon you- which is meaningless anyway. And I don't see the players being forced to consider wearing/ not wearing a pink ribbon in October, or a Red Ribbon on December 1st, or grow 'taches in November, so why a poppy?
I personally choose to wear a poppy out of respect for (all) those who have died in the absurdity of war, as I respect those who have given up their lives doing what they thought was right. However, I also respect the rights of others to reject wearing a poppy for their own feelings about war. Just a shame that FIFA feel like they have to dictate on this, but perhaps it is to make players feel less uncomfortable with perhaps being forced to express private opinions publically?
Hardly divisive considering we were fighting as one nation.
How tall was he before he went?If they had white Poppy Day to condemn militarism then there'd be a massive outcry in the blood thirsty media owned by Hawks who prompted wars for their own ends.
There should be none of this clap trap anyway. As if people have to wear poppies to show they care about sacrifice. It's absurd. My great grand father lost half a foot in the First World War and was pretty much disabled thereafter. But he was left without a pension from that lot and despised them all his life and cursed the poppy business. Sacrificed himself almost in conflict just to go back and live in a 'kin slum....which was the fate of the families of most of those killed in the two world wars.
Ha Ha.How tall was he before he went?
I get where you're coming from but it's probably a bit like me saying the swastika was originally a Hindu symbol for peace so it's ok to use it on my shirt because I'm a hippie after all. They're of course doing so incorrectly though as the poppy is supposed to represent all soldiers in all wars, not just the British Army, so be appropriating it they are actually going against what it means in the first place
Stick them onto 2p coins, West Ham fans will be happy to oblige.Thousands of them should be dropped from the arch like they do in the Albert Hall as an act of defiance against FIFA.
...and they make political decisions every time they hold the world cup venue vote.Is it just me that cant help thinking that if the Poppies were "The *random FIFA sponsor* supported Poppies", then this wouldnt be an issue?
Yep, and 'Hitler has only got one ball' should be played loudlyThousands of them should be dropped from the arch like they do in the Albert Hall as an act of defiance against FIFA.
