I've felt lower than the current period, but never so indifferent towards our club, even in 97-98 we had Dunc fighting almost single handed at times for our survival, if we get sucked into a relegation fight this time round, I'm not sure we have the stomach for it, and thats down to the manager.

Thing is, as people have said, in the Walter Smith days we knew we were gash.

That meant when we won against decent teams like Villa or someone it was like the Everton of nowadays beating the likes of Chelsea.

These days if we win against mid table teams it's expected so if we lose it's far worse.

Basically, the fact we were sh*tter meant that when we occasionally weren't sh*t it was a lot better.

The thing is...weve seen how it goes.

So watching what's happening now is more painful because we know how it carries on, week in week out, and where it will end.

Shame the people running the club dont seem to see it

Worst thing is...weve got talent in the team.

The 90s were tough, coming off the back of the 80s, when we were clearly the best team in the World.

The Leeds game, when Southall sat on the post, thats when I realised, I was in the Gwladys Street watching 1 of our greatest ever players dying inside infront of 40k people and I knew it was over.

The sale of Arteta this Summer made me realise that its over this time.

We clearly didnt have the same success, but I got 2 trips to that there Wembley and some happy, happy memories.

But to be honest for the last 2 Years theres been nothing but pain and sorrow, I love Everton, im just not IN love with Everton anymore.

Well done Bill, you win, you beat me with your failure.

Nev staying on the pitch looking broken and fed up was as bad as I've felt I think. It was tragic.

I felt like the second bit in the late '90's, pretty much stopped taking an interest for a couple of years other than to look at the results. Went to one game in '98 I think, although due to living a lot further away I rarely go the game these days anyway. Watching us has become a chore at the moment, but I keep doing it. I still feel a buzz when we win.

We've been worse than we are now. Late 90's early 00's were the worst teams I remember. But like mentioned earlier we knew we were crap then. I don't think i've been so despondent supporting Everton than at the moment though. There's a sense of inevitability about what's happening at the club today.

The thing is in the 90s we had the dogs of war, Horne Parkinson etc this lot couldnt get in a battle with themselves, if you look at the table and fixtures now its very worrying, we are 7 points above the bottom three. Out of our next 7 league games

City
Wigan
Chelsea
Sh1te
QPR
Spurs
Arsenal

I really cant see anymore than a possible 7 points out of these games so come the last week of march potentially we could be in the bottom three or thereabouts, our last two games away at Wolves they will be batlling to stay up and finally the geordies at home and they will probably be going for europe. It looks bleak can someone please pick me up from this and give me something positive.
