Sorry boys but you got this one all wrong.

Do I need to bump the "Yakubu Out" thread.

I wonder if some of you pay attention to the game of football.

What did you expect from Fernandes in his first few matches with us? Seriously what did you expect?

And now I'm seeing comments like, "Well he better pick it up or he isn't worth X amount in the transfer market."

We haven't paid anything for him yet and Moyes won't if he doesn't think he'll help the squad.

But it really gets old when a player comes in, doesn't set the world alight in his first few matches (Yakubu, Jags, Pienaar, now Fernandes...see a pattern here) and some sections of the support start giving said player stick for not lighting it up.

Ummm...very few players come over here and light it up out of the gate. Most take some time to acclimate.

But one thing is for sure. I've seen Fernandes make a few defense splitting passes this year that Cahill, Osman, or Arteta have yet to make.

I don't give a flying [Poor language removed] about his attitude, I really don't. And for any of us to say that we know what is attitude is like is just a joke. No one here knows what's going on.

All I care about his performance on the pitch and after yesterday's result, you can have a go at plenty of other players in blue besides Fernandes.

But please please don't make the same old mistake of seeing him in just three matches and saying that there's a trend in there somewhere. There isn't so don't look for one.

We've already seen that mistake made with Yakubu, Jags, and Pienaar.

I would have figured that most of you would have learned your lesson by now.

Apparently not.

We need people that actually look like they care mate.

I suppose ankle length hair could be handy for foray's into the penalty box. My new best friend Stevie G would be dead jealous of my falling over ability.

Ah but how would we know that you've fallen over, once had a sweat on you'd look like something the cat threw upb)

Well TX, I bet you are glad to get that lot off your chest mate no matter how wrong it is. Just let us examine your claims on each player

Jags

When he first played he was out of position, was lost, nervous and put in some abysmal performances. Fans on here expressed their concern, which they are entitled to, but I cannot recall anyone saying ‘sell him’. The truth in his case was some made it clear he was a centre back who was being asked to play in midfield or full back, we all suggested give him time. Once he got to play at centre back he knew the role expected of him and is presently playing out of his skin much to the relief of everyone, especially Jags. I believe he has had very fair treatment by everyone on this board and his present thread proves it.

Pienaar

The only questions raised about the Pieman concerned his size and his similarity to Osman. The lad soon won everyone over because of his willingness and endeavour; he is a great addition to our squad. Why you have included him on your list is beyond me.

Yakubu

This guy had been in preseason training with Boro, had also trained with us but his initial performances were embarrassing, similar to his showing at Boro. I reported here what the Boro fans thought of him, most Pompey fans have that same opinion. His ability to score goals when he wants was not in doubt, his attitude certainly was, I would suggest that those questions remain valid in the light of his recent actions, or lack of action. Bump away mate

Fernandes

As a supporter I think you must also consider the clubs finances when assessing any prospective purchase. This guy has only managed to really impress me for about a total of twenty minutes in all the games he has played for us. I have not once doubted his ability, it drips out of his ears, but his dedication and application leave so much to be desired I, like many others, are surely entitled to cast doubts over seeing so much money being invested in a potential flop, he has a track record as a flop mate. I have said elsewhere that even DM was so concerned on Saturday that he took off at h/t, and that is virtually unprecedented for Mr Moyes I also fail to see why fans cannot express their growing concern about him on these pages especially when those concerns are absolutely legitimate

It is noticeable that AVDM is missing from your list. His remaining supporters celebrated at the weekend because he made the bench, I would postulate that the only reason he got that far was because the Toffee Lady had forgot her boots.

The one thing I would hate to see from Evertonians is a refusal to face up to facts or debate potential pitfalls, if we stop doing that then we might as well be red, see their on going excuse list in some of the links posted on here

You are still my mate but on this I totally disagree with you pal(y)

4 games played, 4 very poor performances. Is this really the player we were all crying over in the summer? He needs to seriously buck his ideas up in the remaining games otherwise he will be sent packing back to spain
