If only Carsley could play those cross field inch perfect passes he would be the best DM in the world!!!!

As for Manuel Fernandes. Bring him on I say, bring him on. I look at it from the side that he was told where he was going. Remember his face in the pictures when he signed for Valencia holding the shirt. It said "Holy crap, what am I doing here holding this shirt"

Look at him, doesn't he look thrilled to have just signed for him :P

The thing is this...........as you can tell, im not in favour of bringing him back. Does'nt matter who's fault is was that he was at goodison ready to sign. Was given the red carpet treatment an then fukked off to spain.

IF.....

If he was resigned, as soon as he put an everton shirt on id support him to the hilt. Im an evertonian, i love my club unconditionaly, it rules my life. If you ware the everton coulors im always behind you. Also if he does come back i want him to do really, really well. I dont want him to fail, why would i?. He showed somtimes he had a bit of class about him,yes but he never showed it enough.

I am bitter about what happened but like others have said, i trust im moyes and what he's doing.

Onwards and Opwards............:D :D (y)

That's a fantastic statement - Can't express it any better.

Nice one Sharpy.(y)

I didn't see much of Manny when he was here, and i don't begrudge him for signing for Valencia bos i think that perhaps he thought that the Everton transfer was never really going to work out, that the 3rd party difficulties would continue to be a problem ala Mascherano and Tevez, and that when Valencia came along he thought here was an opportunity to go to a really good team, CL football, and no problems with all the third party shenanigans. Sure he said he loved playing for us etc etc, but remember he's not an Evertonian like us.

Either way, we need to put personal feelings aside. Yeah a lot of us feel slighted/insulted/betrayed by him. But the important thing is whether it would be a good move for the club, not that he hurt us before. Moyes is obviously looking past that, and according to the article he has asked the team and so are they. On that basis, i'm all for it.

it was wonderful to see that guy dance around the pitch leaving cheatin toerags like glass jaw Cesc on his arse.

Cesc FabreGlass?

Fernandes spends night in jail (from occasionally dodgy Goal.com site)

Manuel Fernandes future at Valencia looks even more bleak after he spent a night in prison after a fracas at a night club in the city centre.

The Portugese star was with a group celebrating teammate Miguel's birthday when a bust-up happened after a member of the public called police after allegedly having his watch stolen.

While Miguel was not taken to the police station as he refused to leave the disco without his lawyer, Fernandes and his brother were escorted away.

Despite requests from the rest of the players, the police refused to allow release Fernandes and he was forced to spend the night in a cell.

Valencia are expected to issue an official statement once they have all the facts, but the incident is unlikely to impress coach Ronald Koeman.

The Dutchman is reported to have asked the club to find Fernandes a new team and Everton have been linked with a move for their former player.

as far as i was aware fernandes wanted to sign for us but it was taken out of his hands by his owners.

the owners touted a fee to everton for 100 % ownership,we said yes , fernandes was set to sign.
meanwhile the owners touted fernandes to continental clubs for a higher fee , which valencia agreed on.
the owners then said to everton that if we want him we would have to almost double the first price they qouted us.(i beleive it was 22 million for 100 % ownership))
the club tried to raise the dough but within hours fernandes had signed for valencia and earnt his owners a hell of a lot more than they would have made by selling him to us.they made 11 miliion but still kept there 50 % stake.
they were in fact trying to hold us to ransom.

in hindsite i dont blame fernandes as the decision was taken out of his hands.
i blame his owners , global sports investment (i think thats there name).
there should be no place in footballl for these bunch of crooks.

i would have fernandes back but i would begrudge dealing with gsi (?) and would hate to hand any money over to those conning bastards.

note * i know fifa are currupt when they allow firms like global sports (?) to hype up prices and syphon so much cash out of the game.

Thats convinced me enough to say I dont think we will ever see Fernandes back here or maybe I shouldnt fall for his words?

Moyes is a shrewd operator and now understands how to get his man. I wouldn't be suprised if Moyes was responding directly to a very direct question. The devil is in the details of the question, which sadly we don't get to read!

Fernandes snubbed Everton to move to Valencia.

Hes not a child. Believe it or not, he does have a big say in his career. If Barnsley made a late bid more than us and Valencia, do you think he would have went there because the big boys told him too?

Don't talk daft.

Anyone on this board 100% certain about his commitment and character?

fancy taking a 10million pound gamble on such a person?

can everton afford a very expensive version of VDM?

all transfers are gambles, so lets look at the evidence... fell out at benfica, loan to pompey - harry didnt get a sniff of a bung so the signing wasnt made permanent, loan to us - sporadic performances, had a tendancy to drift into the game when everyone else was playing well, wasnt the catalyst to a great performace by the team, went back to benfica because of third party ownership in the summer, then agreed a move to us - reneged on that to then join valencia in the eleventh hour. full circle, fallen out at valencia and now needs another club to keep his career going.

hardly the track record of a saint is it.

still fancy the risk?

I think most of us were looking for a loan deal again, and see how it panned out. But doesn't seem Moyes is arsed, so we as a unit have to move on.
